the staff are really friendly and very helpful that is why we returned there. we have a 1 year baby girl and they were just so accomodating. the food is always very good and we have stayed in some of the best hotels. i also have to add that this hotel seems to have the most comfortable mattresses for a hotel we have slept on! my husband is 6"7 so he needs a generous sized bed. We loved the location which was excellent - we could walk to everything. Helpful and friendly staff and modern and clean amenities & decor. Undercover and secure parking was appreciated.

There was a mistake made with our room - instead of 3 beds there was only 1 bed! The staff were friendly & fixed the problem quickly. The room was comfortable. Having car park facilities was great. Closeness to both hospital and shopping is very handy. The location, the new facilities, the lovely staff and lobby area. The room had good amenities and inclusions. Room and views were nice. Located over church street, you have the restaurants and pubs 2 blocks away. The rooms were spacious and very clean. Very close to restaurants, public transport and shopping. Close to CBD and beaches. Location to visit Olympic Stadium was good, easy to get to by car and staff were very helpful. The location suited us as we were attending an appointment directly opposite the hotel. That the staff were very friendly. The rooms were clean. Walking distance to shops. Room on first floor - mostly had a view of wall of building next door and concrete platform & noisy beneath us until early hours of the morning. Air conditioning did not work well - we had to leave dial on 5 degrees to get a comfortable temperature (filter may have needed a clean?). That the staff didn't check with us later to see if we were happy with how the problem was dealt with :(. The street noise late at night was a little annoying. A spa would be nice but there was nothing I didn't like!. no cafe type food in between restaurant hours. Checkin/checkout a bit slow: a bit of a wait, then a longish process. Bit pricey. Bar shutting early on a Saturday night?! Expensive breakfast. Confusion over Booking .com's info saying payment for the room had been taken at the time of booking and the hotel having no idea that that was the case. N/A. I just wish there was a discount with car parking especially staying within the hotel. Small bathroom with broken taps and scary elevators. Nothing. none. All good. I didn't say anything at the check out because we had arelaxing time however I might as well bring it up now. 1) I found hair in the bath tub 2) Bathroom extractor fan right next to the bed was annoyingly noisy. I opened a window then could not shut it again... A tad expensive for the two nights, in particular the first night. nothing. nothing. Room TV not working correctly. Towels were soiled. After staying at the hotel in an unrenovatedcroom several years ago and having our luggage soaked from the shower leaking through the wall onto the carpet, we were very wary of staying again. Needing accom on short notice we booked again. The room was beautiful but the noise from the street was VERY evident, even on the 8th floor and the lack of water volume and pressure in the shower was disappointing, even taking into account water saving measures. Very difficult to rinse hair properly. What I don't like that they gave us a room for disabled people. Their room key system is poor. Our keys had to be reprogrammed 5 times in our first 24hrs. Parking is expensive at $14 per day. Buffet breakfast is not worth $28pp. Buffer started at 6am, we ate at 6.30am and most food items such as eggs and hash browns cold and unpleasant. We have also been charged 3 times for the same bill and the refund process is being made extremely difficult. Quality of room was not value for money especially shower Breakfast very expensive Bar closed early while still guests arriving and looking for a couple of drinks. The room was very small and cramped for the cost, if I were a large person I would be unable to access the facilities in any comfort. Very dissappointed with the room value for money,. That the showers were very low, and you had to bend down to wash your hair. Slope in rooms and male staff at front desk was not helpful . Wasn't busy but still directed us to other staff . The standard of Novotel has slipped since I was there a few years ago. Arrived at 230pm and the room still wasn't ready. Tv remote didn't work. room next to service elevator making noise all night. poor parking arrangements for larger vehicles and need to ensure that keys are returned when guests are leaving, poor room amenities including no table in double rooms and a strange configuration, very irregular, slow and erratic lifts, small check in and check out area with little staffing making for long delays in checking in and out. Overall not satisfactory for a room costing $400 per night. fold out bed halls smelt musty. Rooms very ordinary, cramped , Didn't have the correct bedding , ageing. Smoke smell in the room, finding a half drank six pack of bundy behind a nib wall near the window, web site states in room movies but the were not an option, tv in bed room not working. room smelled damp air con very noisy street noise very loud. the staff were not friendly. Cut my arm on bed side glass table, sharp edges. Dust on tables. A special access room was booked but was unavailable when we checked in. We were upgraded to Executive but the bathroom was totally unsuitable for a wheelchair. It would not fit through the door. Nor was my Accor membership acceptable. I would not book there again. Music downstairs on the Friday night in ballroom was way to loud. Couldn't sleep because of this. The bathroom I found it to be dirty around shower area & the swimming pool wasn't clean. As for it being 4 1/2 stars. No I wouldn't think so. The pictures on the website paints a lot better & nicer place. At 300.00 a night not including breakfast or parking this was extremely disappointing. I travel quite extensively and have stayed at far better hotels for the same price with breakfast included. It makes me wonder why we have any tourism left alt all.
