The motel was more beautiful that I even imagined. The desk clerk said they are still doing renos, but we stayed in a room we were very happy with, so I'm not sure where they are actually doing the renos. Rooms are small, but no more that most. I emailed a request to stay in a room as far from the main road as possible after reading another person had done so, and they kindly put us in the wing near the pool, but not too close to the pool to hear that.It was perfect for sleeping! kaikki arvostelut » The hotel was close to the town centre and venues we needed to be, without any noise. We had a lovely outlook onto the farm lands to the north of the township. Our Executive room was spacious and there was lots of parking available. Location, comfort, convenience and value for money. I have been to Maitland, countless times but have not stayed at the motel before. Therefore the views were so different and beautiful from a different vantage point. any one interested in history like us, would love to stay in this great old building ... fully renovated to todays décor. Enjoyed our overnight stay ... very peaceful but close to everything - would stay again. The place used to be an orphanage and also a Convent at one time. It is a lovely building with huge rooms. Good location off the main road on bus route too. The staff are very friendly typical country people. -great room, very clean and newly renovated I guess -nice flat screen TV -a double power plug and double USB plug as well (never had this before, not even in SG or HK) that's great!. It was quiet and attractive with lots of character and work going on to upgrade it so lots of potential. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good and service very quick. The bed and fittings were very comfortable. Depite the renovations we felt welcome and very satisfied with our stay. Staff are extremely helpful. Price was a BIG draw card. Room and reception staff on arrival was great. Clean, comfortable. I was there to visit a close friend in Maitland hospital so location was great. grand old building with lovely decor, spacious well lit luxuries atmosphere. breakfast in courtyard a feature. verandah access from rooms. Monte Pio has more character than the average motel. Rooms were very clean, spacious and comfortable. Staff helpful and friendly with prompt service for any problems. room was very comfortable, might help to add a microwave to the room. As smokers access to outside was handy. Monti Pio served us well as we needed to be close to Maitland Hospital. The history of the building, the rooms are very nice, the food lovely. It was quiet and plenty of off street parking. Nice games/bar area. the building presents a nice atmosphere and the public areas are pleasant. The food we had at the function we attended was good. Very clean, good location. The staff were not the most helpful. There seems to be a lot of wear and tear on the common areas and the billiard table had several large tears. To a good look just off reception. Decor is a little mixed. -prepared coffee in a hot pot for hours at breakfast (Espresso machine would be nice). Whilst the outside has been refurbished the rooms are a little tired. Shower was showing signs of mildew and needs attention. The breakfast room was leaking water during a shower so you needed to be selective about where you sat. Late checking was not an option but we did arrive on time but it did put pressure on us to drive rather than take a break during the trip. I would have liked to have some plates and cutlery in our room as we bought take away thai. We had to do quite a lot of things relating to a house sale so didn't have time to have a dinner in the restaurant. I ordered room service at 6pm. At 7.30pm I hadn't received my meal. Called reception, no answer. Called the restaurant, no answer. I had to come down to the restaurant and ask for my order. Went to breakfast and no one was there to seat or serve. I went without any food only to sit in the hospital until 1.30 before being able to get food. Not happy!. rooms could be slightly larger but acceptable. Small bathroom, vanity cupboard needs cleaning. Carpet in entry hallway stained and torn and should be replaced before it becomes a trip hazard. The strong smell of the fresh paint. Bathrooms a little small. My husband is 6ft 6" and didn't have much room to move, lol. no negative to report. Not enough Crockery & Cutlery but we asked at Desk & they were provided promply .Most Motels will give exta milk without charge (glass )As Pensioners a little extra discount would help . I feel the awning at reception in not in keeping with the building. Decore was very dated but I understand renovations start in a month to bring this classic motel into the new age. I will stay again. The restaurant wasn't open on the night I was there. I was not advised when I booked. There was nothing nearby. Information about local fast food delivery services could be made available in rooms for such occasions. Highway noise. Nothing. dining room carpet threadbare in places near seating area. Starting to shows signs of wear & tear. No smoking areas inside. Just a bit noisy with the traffic on main road. 1. Only 1 blanket on the bed and no spares in the room 2. Was told that there was a full buffet breakfast only to find the following morning that it was only toast and cereal, hot breakfast wasn't available on that particular day. The fridge didn't work and needed to get that changed. The pool was cloudy and couldn't see bottom so I wouldn't let my child swim with his head under. The tennis court was extremely old and run down. The gym equipment was old. the room we had was a bit run down- chipped fittings and tired looking built in furniture with windows sticking. Bathroom door would not fully open - jamming on the floor. Wine prices too high. Looked rundown. Poor outside maintenance - car park needs weed treatment. Inside was a little tacky with artificial flowers and 'unusual' statuary. Room lacked good soundproofing and airconditioner did not turn off. I was extremely dissappointed to have to pay for facilities that were available. For example to use the bbq we had to pay $47 for the gas bottle and $50 for the cleaning of the bbq that is $97 to use the facility. $10 to use the laundry. I think if a hotel advertises facilities that should be included in your daily rate. Extremely poor service in the restaurant. Very poor service in the restaurant.
