The family room was spacious, equipped with 2 double beds and a single bed which could accommodate up to 5 people. There's plenty of walking space in the room and it comes equipped with a bar table and a mini-pantry with essentials such as a kettle and a microwave oven. Beyond the room, Opal Motel is situated 5 minutes away (by driving) from the main Leongatha district, but yet holds its country charm as it is surrounded by lush greenery and cattle. The price for the family room was absolutely.

The motel's location is a good gateway to Philip Island, Wilsons Promontory and The Strzelecki Ranges. The owner was friendly and the room was excellent value for money too. Free toiletries were provided. We initially had booked two rooms but when we got there realised we only needed the one room which the staff let us cancel at no extra cost which was very helpful of them. If in leongatha again would definitely stay here. The room was great value and very clean and comfortable. The staff were fantastic and very friendly and humorous. Traffic noise as we faced the front road, although set back. Loose stones in parking area, not great when on a motorbike. Nothing really. No possibility to sit outside in an attractive surrounding. Heating system could do with an upgrade, Shower sliding door track broken. I don't like doonas, i get too hot, throw them off and then get too cold, but i realise they make bed making easier. Driveway needs repair. Exposed hot water pipe Could not find switch for bed side lights. The small lights on the air con unit, the smoke detector and the TV made the room very light during the night - stopped me from sleeping as it was so bright in the room. distance from town centre. Very dated. No breakfast offered. Iron provided but no ironing board. Location was too far out of town to walk to get dinner so had to drive each time. In an effort to save power (and hence money), everything was turned off at rhe powerpoint in the room - including the fridge.
