The location was perfect for visiting Tintagel Castle, Merlin's cave and the King Arthur museum which was perfect for our trip. The gentleman serving our breakfast was so friendly and polite, nothing was too much trouble. The room and en suite bathroom was large, clean and very comfortable. Food was beautiful - best steak we have eaten in a long time. Lovely views from our room and also plenty of on site parking.

Dining and bar areas need a revamp. little sound proofing, could hear every sound. evening menu was not displayed very clearly so we ate away from hotel. terrible wifi. young bar staff unhelpful. beds old and uncomfortable. double glazed units need changed as a lot have broken down and are misted up. Room was quite noisy as it was above the bar and we could hear the music. The room and hotel could do with a lot of TLC. No lifts and no offer to carry luggage up 3 flights of stairs. Mattress was so thin it was like sleeping on the board under the mattress.As expected the hotel was very old but really needs updating. We felt the hotel needs brightening up - its rather on the dark and dingy side. We could not see very well out of the window of our room as it is misted up and the room and bathroom were very small. evening menu not very good. The restaurant seemed dirty. Hotel is very tired and badly in need of a facelift.
