The view. Breakfast was excellent. The best i ever had in a hotel in the uk. Room larger than expected. Comfortable bed. Friendly staff.friendly atmosphere although unfortunately were not able to stay for breakfast so a slight price reduction would be appreciated. The food was brilliant and the Hotel had character. Personal welcome from Proprietors - knew who we were when we arrived.

Good choice for dinner menu, efficient service, polite and helpful staff. Always a warm and friendly welcome with good food and drink selection. king size bed and friendly staff. Food was very good. Friendly staff. staff. Food was pretty good - especially breakfast.Staff friendly. Breakfast. The dinner menu was rather pubbish. However, we had the days special which was very good.Could do with some more upgraded dishes. The first room was too noisy but they changed us to another room without question when we complained. Not really. like many independently owned Hotels could clearly benefit from further investment in fabric /rooms etc i.e white loo seats on yellow basin but this did not detr us from emjoying the brief stay. The hot water took a long time to come through to the room we were in.Rooms need refurb - tired, but adequate. did not like is too strong, but more oomph to the shower would have been nice!. The bedroom decoration seemed a little tired, with paint peeling off thewindows for example. Double glazed windows to reduce noise from the roadcould be beneficial. The dining room carpet needs refitting as it wasfull of wrinkles/ridges that could be a trip hazard, and spoilt what isbasically a very nice dining area. Strange idea of wine glasses, they were more suitable for cocktails!. Shabby furnishings and decor. air conditioning unit outside room that was on all night. Lounge has been taken out and replaced by dining tables. Nowhere to sit other than bar. No bedside lights. Room lights switched off at door so had to find bed in pitch darkness. cooler unit left on all night which was noisy; table for smokers outside the room door and had to phone hotel at midnight to ask them to remove them as no answer from reception. Room smelt musty and was right next to kitchen entrance.Room decor abysmal, shower either boiling or cold, bed springs coming through on mattress.
