Lo que la gente dice
Business like attention on arrival and interest by staff in my reason
for being here....first time to spend a night +2 in Peterborough since
spending 6-8 weeks every summer from 1965-70. Owner's daughter
printed a much appreciated map for me....'though much has changed
but I walked and walked and walked....... Was able to check out old
landmarks known to me by seeking out people older than myself!!!
It is clear that staff enjoy working at Newark Hotel and are appreciated...this was felt by me i. todo comentarios »
This is a real retro 1970s hotel, but much of the furniture is actaully new, just made to look 70s: lovely! The owner's daughter, who was running Reception, was particularly helpful when my old laptop could not connect to Hotmail on the free WiFi. The breakfast was excellent and just what you would expect for an 'Full English'. Easy to find and lots of secure parking.
I liked the fact the staff were very friendly, the room was comfortable, the bar and restaurant were reasonably priced and the food was excellent with lots of choice-my family met me and we were able to sit in the hotel lounge on our own.Breakfast was excellent and on the whole there is nothing I did not like about this hotel.
I was there while working nights. They were fine with me coming back in at odd times. The big plus for me is that they let me check out much later on my last day. They have a large secure car park that gets locked at midnight which is great but just meant that I had to park outside if I got in too late.
Very cheap.
Breakfast was excellent.
The owners are very personable and friendly.
It's within a mile of the town centre
Local bottled real ale in the bar (and that it has a bar!)
Secure car park.
It is very quiet and it is very easy to get into the city centre even if you do not have a car as the number 5 bus runs every 10minutes.The breakfasts are also very good.
Handy location, clean, comfy room, excellent breakfast, friendly staff -
all for less than £50. Couldn't ask for much more. Will definately
stay again.
Friendly staff, good basic food well cooked at a reasonable price, free internet. Bed comfy and linen clean. Not too hot and stuffy.
The staff is very friendly and the breakfast is delicious. You get a proper English Breakfast for free!.
Very friendly, organised, secure car park, excellent individually cooked breakfast, comfortable beds.
the bar man was great sat there for A long time with another punter just chatting about well stuff.
Very helpful staff who got up in the middle of the night when I was taken ill.
Very clean. Food good value for money. Staff very polite and helpful.
Really good service and Food was lovely. Excellent Value for Money.
Very good, for short stay business or working. Good food too.
Clean, friendly staff and nice breakfast, thanks.
the secure parking and the breakfast.
Comfortable bed, nice clean linen.
Value for Money.
All good.
Breakfast great.
price.
Off street car park. Easy to find.
Not a real complaint - never noticed the modern shower in the other
bathroom further along the corridor! My own fault..... So I made do with
a dreadful bath-shower!.
There was nothing to dislike.
Nothing,it really is lovely.
Shared toilets have no hand basin
The decor is dated but can't argue given the price.
Walls a bit thin - got woken up by next door's kettle!.
Breakfasts were a bit repetitive and limiting. No fresh fruit or yogurt. Only two cereals.
Walls between my rooms were thin and I was woken by next doors phone alarm an hour too early each day.
The free internet was unusably slow in my room, but faster downstairs in the bar.
room could have done with being updated A bit.
Very noisy at nightime with the doors slamming.
Not close to centre,.
No-one to leave key with on departure.
Slightly expensive.
Difficult to find the hotel.
nothing.
Tired and needs renovation.
No meal served at weekends.
lack of heating
noise
limited breakfast menu.
The room was cold
One of the reading lights did not work
There was no desk to enable me to do any work.
Poor Cleanliness:
- Toilet not clean (on arrival there were bits of poo floating around)
- Bed linen very heavily scented (febreze spray). It smelled as though it had been sprayed with something - to disguise bad odours.
General quality / value for money
- Room was very small for a double (but stil £68).
- Shower = luke warm trickle. Could not get enough power/heat to wash hair / get a soap lather.
- Generally dated facilities, tired decor, old spring mattress....
