Staff was friendly and helpful, though the wait staff was
inexperienced and had some issues. Great location in a small town very
near the heart of neolithic Orkney - just a few miles to the major
sites which let you be flexible in avoiding the tour buses. Food was
excellent in the restaurant, breakfasts were delicious, both featured
local meats and foods.
The room was comfortable and clean, the food was excellent and owners and staff were warm, friendly and helpful. The hotel is in an ideal central location in a quiet village, is easy to find and has ample parking spaces. I wanted a relaxing holiday and this is exactly what I got.todo comentarios »
Arrived at midnight from the late ferry, this wasn't an issue, the owner was accommodating and helpful. Comfy and relaxed surroundings although a 20 min drive to Kirkwall. Would deffinately recommend.
Cost, comfort (and the bed was the best I have ever slept in), free wi-fi, close to a Scotmid shop. filling station and other amenities, TV with DVD player. Good breakfasts.

Shower was typical hotel tight. Evening wait staff was inexperienced and

The evening meals were a bit pricey.
There was an issue with the shower head, but it was known, and is in the process of being addressed.
Although it did not affect us personally we thought the 2 week cancellation period with a 100% forfeiture within two weeks to be somewhat excessive.

The rooms were noisey with the banging of doors from down below. We struggled to get into our room each time due to a faulty lock. Also the shower took forever to warm up and when it did it was not that hot.
Over priced for the location and amenities. We were placed in a room
over the bar and it was very noisy.
