Lo que la gente dice
Great place to stay the evening prior to using Euro Tunnel. Ten minutes away from the Euro Tunnel terminal. Penny and Paul could not have been more helpful. When we arrived it was quite late and the restaurant was closing. We were able to order a light meal which was all we wanted (Pate, chutney, butter, lots of toast, and a couple of glasses of red wine). The room was very clean and well appointed and we wanted for nothing. Breakfast was early the next morning, again, our hosts were very. todo comentarios »
We stayed on route to Italy for our honeymoon to get an early Channel Tunnel crossing. Staff were extremely friendly and helpful, even gave us a map to the station. Best welcome I have ever received checking into a hotel or b&b. They went out of their way to make sure we had breakfast before catching an extremely early Channel Tunnel crossing (lovely fresh fruits, natural yogurt with muffins and cookies to take on the train). Room was exquisite, modern and spotlessly clean. The bed was a me.
Spacious, beautifully furnished room and ensuite. Wonderful breakfast in the restaurant which also provided an excellent menu choice for lunch and dinner and with the option of a delicious 3 course special most nights. All reasonably priced. Fresh fruit and drinks provided for guests. Great location being an easy walk to the town for shopping or the seaside for great walks, fishing etc. Hosts Paul and Penny make you feel very welcome and provide good advice about the local area. Convenient to a r.
Paul was very friendly but not excessively . Arrival arrangements were
very clear and we let ourselves in . The room was perfect, delightfully
decorated , spacious , very comfy bbed . The shower was fantastically
powerful . Everything was very well considered and tasteful and
practical . Even the quite large tv being set in a recess was nicely
unobtrusive .Breakfast was, as all the other reviews suggested excellent
also . We left thinking we will need to find some other excuses to visit
Folkest.
Paul and Penny were wonderful hosts, who provided both too class accommodation and food. The sundoroofed three rooms are above their restaurant which serves wonderful food. Our room, Love Letters, was beautifully and efficiently designed providing a very comfortable environment to stay. It is located centrally, with easy access to the town centre, ocean walk, beach and easy access to other towns nearby, eg Dover, Canterbury, as well as the Channel Tunnel. We have no hesitation in recommendi.
Our room was A Walk in the Park. It is tastefully decorated, modern, large and very peaceful. The bed was extremely comfortable and everything was very clean. The restaurant was really good and the recommended wine to go along with our delicious evening meal was great. Probably the best fruit salad ever for breakfast and a great choice of eggs (florentine and benedict were the best!). Penny and Paul are perfect hosts. We definitely recommend this lovely b&b.
The staff / owners were so helpful and friendly, even though our arrival was delayed by traffic.
The rooms are beautifully decorated and appointed, with an extremely comfortable bed in 'Burlesque', which is where we stayed. I loved the complimentary soft drinks fridge for all guests - a lovely touch.
The food in the restaurant is delicious, as was the breakfast.
I cannot recommend this boutique B&B highly enough!.
The rooms are well designed and full of character and the owners should be proud of their product. They are not your typical hotel room. Cleanliness is 1st class. The rooms are at the rear of Paul's Restaurant which is where a first class breakfast is served. The hospitality was great. The gentleman who checked on our well being and served breakfast provided us with superb and friendly service. Would recommend!.
An exceptionally friendly welcome. Room was spotless and tastefully
furnished, and the bed was extremely comfortable. Great shower and
toiletries supplied. There was also a complimentary soft drinks mini
bar. Our request for an early breakfast was accommodated without fuss
and they provided us with accurate clear directions to the Euro Tunnel.
Breakfast was excellent. Thank you.
The room we stayed in was called A Walk in the Park. It was modern, a good size and clean throughout. The bed was comfortable bed and the flat screen television had the free satellite channels. Paul, the owner was absolutely charming and cooked us a lovely breakfast and even drove us to the train station as we were running late. A highly recommended establishment.
Very tasteful room, clean & comfortable. Excellent range of free beverages. Very good value for money. Good stopover for onward travel via tunnel & ferry. Paul even provided us with local map & directions to get to tunnel. On site restaurant with super food - portions are not for the faint hearted!! Would book again and recommend to others.
Paul and Penny where very welcoming and friendly, the 3 rooms have their own character with designer wallcoverings and are beautifully finished. You cant beat the comfort of your own bed, but the mattress was first class and we didn't want to leave the bed! Service and hospitality usually only found in 4/5 star hotels. We will be back to stay for sure!.
We stayed here overnight on the way to Europe so we could catch an early train the next day. We ate in the Restaurant in the evening and it was one of the best meals we have aver had. A good night sleep in well appointed bedroom and Breakfast the next morning we excellent. Paul the proprietor was a charming host and made our stay most enjoyable.
First class welcome and service. The recently refurbished rooms were extremely modern with every comfort. Extensive breakfast offering with fresh tropical fruit salad followed by traditional choices and some impressive alternatives e.g. smoked salmon, eggs bendict/ florentine. Complimentary all-day soft drinks and fruit exemplify Paul's welcome.
Paul and Penny made us feel very welcome.
Rooms clean fresh and very comfortable...we liked the style.
Bathrooms modern and clean.
Access to a fridge and fresh ground coffee and chilled drinks a real bonus. Fruit and fresh milk a very good idea, im sure most people will appreciate the little touches as they do make a big difference.
We were using this b&b as a stopover on our way back from France having come over on the Eurotunnel which was really convenient. All the rooms are really nicely decorated and we had a lovely big comfy bed. Paul and Penny are really lovely people and we had the best English breakfast we have ever had! Highly recommended.
Owners and all the staff went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. We arrived at almost 3 pm, but Paul found us some lunch, despite the restaurant being very busy. They left coffee, fruit, biscuits and cold drinks for free on the landing. Rooms were lovely, all individually designed, and comfortable.
The room was excellent, beds good and the whole place beautifully
decorated and furnished. The 'full' breakfast was just a joy and
was worth the stay on it's own!! The restaurant menu looked
absolutely wonderful, quite the best we have seen in a long time; we
just wish we were able to sample it.
beautifully clean, lovely rooms tastefully decorated. Paul and his staff couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful. Nothing was too much trouble. Evening meal exceptional. Breakfast choice excellent and cooked to individual preference. Thank you Paul for a wonderful start to our holiday.
Had a brilliant stay at 'Stay 2a' the owners were fab, hospitality faultless, food great and choice was fantastic ! the room was very comfortable and modern. Would definatly stay here again x thankyou for a great night and fantastic breakfast x thankyou from Linda & Gerry Cook.
Paul the owner met us and despite the late hour made sure he provided a wonderful supper with wine. The rooms are stylish and comfortable with things like cold soft drinks and fruit freely available. Paul's restaurant downstairs is fsntastic and the breakfast is to die for!.
The room was gorgeous and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast in the morning was fantastic.i will definitely be staying there again.fantastic value for money. If I knew there was a restaurant of that quality I would have booked a table there rather than the place I did.
The room was wonderful, the mattress on beds were outstanding quality, best night sleep in a long time. Owners very warm and friendly and the resturant did the best Sunday Carvery I have ever had. Don't normally like Carvery's but have made this the exception to the rule.
Lovely room, great bathroom. The little things were really good, like a mug for tea instead of a little cup and loads of teabags, milk etc. Great restaurant with excellent food - and Paul's map to get to the Eurotunnel worked a treat! Perfect stop for an early crossing.
Room decor
The personal touches - complimentary soft drinks, coffee machine, fruit
There only being 3 rooms it was a very unique feeling rather than thinking your room is just the same as everyone else's. here the rooms each had their own character.
Lovely Big room with modern decor (A Walk in thePark). Access to free cold drinks and fruit bowl. Excellent breakfast. Accommodating and friendly owners.
I come from this area and this is easily the best place we have stayed when visiting family.
the room was very spacious and very clean, the owners were very friendly and welcomming, Paul even gave us a lift to the station, on our departure. we had a lovely stay, and had a really good meal in the restraurant, which we would recommend.
The staff were lovely and informative and helpful. The room was brilliantly designed and we especially enjoyed the mattress! We could hardly leave the bed! Also we had breakfast in our room which was brilliant, thank you for a lovely stay!.
small boutique style accommodation staff friendly helpful, were flexible on arrive time and let us into our room early
as we had a wedding to attend.
replied promptly to all our emails before we travelled.
Met our expectations from previous visit, personal service from Paul anticipated and resolved any problems before they arose. Very flexible approach to breakfast to allow early departure for ferry crossing.
The staff were second to none particularly Clive the chef who greeted us on arrival, carried our bags and made us late lunch. The owners Paul and Penny were exceptional hosts, nothing was too much trouble.
Very comfortable, light, airy room. Excellent restaurant. Friendly staff. Made to feel really welcome. Nice touch to have free hot and cold drinks available as well as a fruit basket.
the rooms were beautifully styled, very clean. The owners were so friendly and welcoming. The restaurant downstairs was also well styled and the food delicious and reasonably priced.
The hotel is just amazing. Never have I been treated like this in my life. The chef takes personal care of his guests (3 rooms only) and makes sure they get the best he has to offer.
Paul & Penny did everything to accommodate our needs . The room was great very modern and comfortable with all the little extras. Would certainly recommend and stay again.
That Clive made us up a packed breakfast because we were leaving very early. The room was very comfortable and appointed. The restaurant "Pauls" below the hotel was excellent.
Sensational spot,Paul (the
owner) is a great guy and makes
you feel at home at once.
Rooms are phantastic and so is
the food in the restaurant.
P.S. Have been back already !!.
We had a very warm welcolme and they found us a parking space in a reasonably secure location.
The hotel was quiet and comfortable Excelently placed for the tunnel.
everything, always a warm welcome, room beautiful, love the added fruit and drinks in the corridor. great breakfast with a vast choice of what to eat. faultless.
Very smart boutique style rooms. Excellent bistro style restaurant on the ground floor. We were given printed directions to the Chunnel. Only 10 minutes away.
The food was excellent, the staff superb, the room was clean and modern,
free light beverages was nice to see - Great value for money - very
recommended.
Room decor, friendliness of staff, facilities, breakfast, bed comfort. Literally cannot fault anything!!! loved our stay there. Will definitely go back!!.
Very friendly and easy going
Eaten at the restaurant before , so I was already familiar with the feel of the restaurant .
The rooms above were lovely .
Friendly, helpful staff.
Smart, comfortable designed bedroom.
Excellent breakfast.
fruit, fruit juices, tea and coffee, water available for bedrooms.
Absolutely Everything. The room was beautiful, the owners were beyond hospitable and our stay was just perfect!!!
Oh and Breakfast was spectacular.

Free cold soft drinks and fresh fruit. Excellent, huge full English breakfast. Friendly, helpful staff. Very comfortable beds. Designer rooms.
Excellent service, nice and clean rooms witout wall to wall carpets. Very good restaurant at the Ground floor. Thanks for a great stay, Paul.
A very clean comfortable stay with beautifully designed rooms.
A wide choice for breakfast and the service from Paul and Penny was superb.
Warm welcome, comfortable clean and tasteful room. Dinner was fantastic and the breakfast was exceptional. Would definitely come back.
Absolutely nothing, faultless!.
It was a great place to stay and there was nothing we didn't like.
Absolutely nothing .
Nothing! Well, except the noisy seagulls, but that's the seaside for you...
It is close to a busy road and as it was a warm night we had windows
open ,- so there was traffic noise. This wouldn't put us off booking
again though.
Nothing.
Vocal seagulls - but you are at their home too!!.
too shorter stay!.
Leaving!.
shower head needed descaling.
Very small parking area , owners are aware of this and do try to help.
Parking. Was directed up a lane barely wider than my car.
Restaurant closed on Sunday evening!.
There was absolutely nothing to dislike!!!.
Having to leave !!.
Nothing!.
The only negative was probably the view from the rooms.theres nothing to see.
View over Sainsbury car park can't be helped. This will not stop me staying there again. Every time I am in Folkstone I will always try and book at Stay 2a.
The iPhone docking station/alarm clock was a bit hi tech for me - perhaps I'm getting old!.
I can't fault it on anything.
Quite pricey but worth it.
Don't expect a view but wasn't a problem for us.
a little noisey, with the seagulls.but not too much of a problem.
parking a bit limited
our bathroom was a tad tight but overall the room was well appointed.
Nothing.
If I have to make a comment it would be that the bath was a little too high to step into particularly for someone elderly or anyone who has leg problems.
Folkestone itself is a bit tired and rundown in some areas but that didn't really spoil our time. If you need a stopping off point to/from the continent this is very convenient.
somewhat limited parking.
Nothing.
The arrangements for checking in which left us stranded for two hours. To be fair this was because the owner and his wife were at a wedding and the staff forgot to put up an alternative mobile contact number on the sign on the hotel door. We received several long apologies.
We were lucky arriving after 6 otherwise parking could be a problem during the day.
Being a City centre location, parking can be a bit of a pain but the
staff go the extra mile to help out, I arrived in a large van and had no
real issues.
Nothing.
Noise but next time will choose a quieter bedroom.
