The hotel was very close to the railway station. The staff were very friendly and helpful especially Sylvia on reception who went to a great deal of trouble to give me directions to the Catholic church. The breakfast and all meals are excellent value for money. The rooms are well equipped having everything you need for your trip. Everyone at the hotel was very helpful when I had a misfortune with my car and they really put themselves out for me when I had to stay another night.

Comfort of rooms, access to facilities such as wifi and restaurant, quiet location easily accessible from train station, clean and spacious room. Extremely helpful an friendly staff,good facilities for those with small children. Clean rooms and a very good breakfast!. Friendly welcome. Location convenient for the railway station. Lighting was not great and the pub next door needed a good clean in the breakfast area. There is no excuse for food splattered walls and greasy tables. We elected not to return for breakfast as coffee was disgusting which was most disappointing as a 'Costa' location! Good choice of teas though. plugs in washbasin and bath did not keep water in, had to keep refilling. No shower instructions. Can't think of anything. there was only one armchair. There were two of us and the room was large enough to accommodate another chair. Being that there is no residents lounge another chair would help. None. only given one set of towels. Air con would have been great, but at least a fan was provided. I don't think it is necessary to charge for Wi-Fi, £3 a day is excessive; also having to sign up to take advantage of the free 30 mins I find intrusive, I didn't bother. Location is a little inconvenient. When coming back and asking for our key ,nobody checked who we were-even if we had not met that member of staff before ??security risk. No criticisms. I booked for 4 people, 2 arrived an hour before I did due to train times. At reception the 2 early visitors were refused entry to their room because the receptionist said I had not paid. I spoke to reception explained I was approx an hour away but entry to their rooms was still refused for the two early arrivals. In this instance it wasn't that much of a problem they went into the adjacent bar and waited, just over an hour when I arrived & immediately paid for the rooms. Room too warm no aircont" in the room window open about 4" unable sleep still awake by 3:00am.So summer month hotel must get hot. the hotel is far away from the city centre and interesting pups, bars etc. The bath/shower area has lost its way. Being OAP,s there was no hand rail to get hold of when getting into and out of the bath. There was no Slip mat for the bath, which is very unusual. The shower head cannot be moved out of harms way. These items need to be rectified before a.n.other slips etc. Restaurant reminded me of a famous Monty Python scene: Chips n eggs, Chips n beans, chips n battered chips, chips chips chips n sausages, chips sausage and chips, pump steak n chips... You get the gist ;). Rooms too hot. The shower was very poor.At first it was broken with water shooting out of the joints NOT THE SHOWER HEAD. In the second day it was repaired but the water force was very poor making it impossible to have a proper shower. The bath, came across somebody hairs, that didn't belong to us. As a party we had three rooms for two nights, with no air Conditioning the thermostat was set at 25 and rooms could not be cooled enough, the supplied fan was to loud to leave on at night, we were getting ready for a wedding being very hot in the rooms did not help at all.
