Lo que la gente dice
After experiencing various of the airport hotels close to Stansted, a stay at Lancaster's (on the basis of the reviews here) came as a delightful surprise. Don't be put off by the slightly naff pic; 'Rosy Lea' is the tea-room downstairs. The B&B has a separate entrance round the side. The owner was exceptionally welcoming and helpful, with suggestions of places to eat, buy wine, etc, and even provided a wine glass and corkscrew, unbidden. Loved the room; characterful, tasteful, quirky and t. todo comentarios »
It's quirky and charming. The room was lovely and crucially, not
horribly over-heated. As the owners don't live on site there is food
for breakfast left in a little fridge - so no need to watch the clock.
For a cooked breakfast or brunch you can visit the Tea Rooms downstairs
(I had scrambled eggs with smoked salmon - really good). The people I met
were friendly and helpful.
None of your categories really describes this delightful place. It's a very old building, with beautiful beams, lovely old windows, and generally lots of charm. The couple who own the place are very nice, and David's mother is a delightful personality! Very relaxing, absolutely central, close to restaurants.
Great value for money. The room was beautiful and the room is very well placed, being in the centre of Bishops Stortford and near the station. Staff were really friendly too. I'll definitely stay another night next time I'm in the area!.
The room was spotless, tidy, great facilities, lovely touches like kettle, tea/coffee/hot chocolate in the room plus biscuits and the continental breakfast in the room made an early getaway for a Stansted flight very easy.
The quirky building, the helpful owners, the comfortable beds with lovely bed linen, the fact that breakfast cereal etc. is all provided but you can also nip downstairs for good food and excellent tea in the shop below.
Fridge in bedroom so I could make my own snacks in the evening and did
not have to eat out in the evening.
very old property, and very old room with beams and wooden floor.
town centre location but tucked away.
Everything! Cereal, room, location! Perfect!
Ps. Sorry my friend split hot chocolate on the bed, he fell a sleep with it in his hand, and woke up covered in it!!.
Very comfortable bed, good ensuite. Very adequate continental breakfast and appreciated the in room fridge. Digital tv and hairdryer.
The friendliness of the staff particularly the older woman who cleaned two days a week - she was particularly helpful.
Very friendly, helpful & made us feel at home, would totally recommend to couples travelling. Thanks Lynda @ David.
Very comfortable place and rooms with nice and welcoming owners, all at an incredible price.
Really traditional medieval building with original beams a real character place.
Central location walk out your door to the heart of the shopping centre unreal .
Friendly welcome, great central location, clean good size room.
Lovely room
David and his mum are really nice people

The old oak beams and the ancient feeling to the room/house.

Clean
Nicely decorated
Centrally located.
Lovely old building.
Walls very thin; I hope my sleeptalking didn't disturb the bloke next door.
Can't think of anything. The town is small, but good for a few days; lovely old buildings, nearby Henry Moore sculpture park, and beautiful countryside nearby.
Nothing. It was perfect!.
The only issue I had was finding the place! But I was soon in phone contact with the guest house and this became a non issue (It's next to the "Rosy lea tea rooms" which are much easier to find). Again the lady and gentleman who run the place were polite and patient and I soon found it with their help.
Leaving!.
No heating in bathroom so too cold to take a shower in freezing
weather. Toilet flush lever did not work properly. Difficulty finding
property on arrival.
The sick woman next door who moaned when the floor boards creeked!.
No complaints. The guesthouse is very close to restaurants and pubs so inevitably outside noise was unavoidable. It did not go on after midnight.
There wasn't,t a n s suite bathroom /toilet .
Loud radiator, small duvet cover, bathroom door didn't shut well.
Drunks under our window at two in the morning.
Liked it all.
Nothing to dislike.
confusion with price regarding email n telephone conversation.
its not a place if you want total peace & quite.
Nothing.
Beautiful room and very friendly owner, will definitely be staying again and highly recommend to others.
The curtains in my room blocked out very little light so I woke at 5.30 in a very bright room!.
nothing worth to see or visit in the surrounding area.
No warm breakfast! Entry to hotel in a hard to find dark back way.
Owner not on premises.
Noise from nearby bars
Near bars bottle bank !.
