Excellent location which would be extremely difficult to beat. Even staying in the old town (Citta Vecchia) of Locarno is not as convenient as Hotel Rio Garni.

Easy, mostly level walk from station. Lovely hosts who spoke excellent English. Beautiful apartment, no 9, on first floor. View over pedestrian street in old town. Picturesque quiet patio on internal courtyard. Peaceful at night. Use of laundry room for small fee. Excellent WiFi. Supermarkets nearby. Short walk to all the sights.

Locarno is a fascinating place with lots of history, beautiful ocation on the lake, and fantastic views from the cable cars up the mountains and down centovalli. Hotel Garni du Lac is superbly situated near the train, cablecar, & boat terminals, staff and service are excellent, and everything is very comfortable. Outstanding few days holiday.

Antonino-the owner so helpful,upgraded us to a garden view room as not busy.Nice touch.Plenty of hot water,good breakfast,very clean,not noisy.right beside bus and train stops so not in town but easy access.Would say its the best accommodation we have booked with you.
