Beautifully appointed, quiet, wonderfully helpful staff, lovely rooms, all comforts available. Situated in university town of Stellenbosch in quiet road. An excellent stay, good value for money and I will stay there again. Highly recommended to anyone travelling to Stellenbosch for sightseeing, or business.

The reception on our arrival was friendly and helpful. Over the last
four years we have stayed at several B&Bs, Hotels/Guest Houses
in South Africa and the De Hoek rates as one of our best and most
enjoyable places. The room was clean and comfortable, well furnished and

The personal touches were very nice (e.g., turn-down service that included port). Check-in was incredibly efficient -- we were in our room within about 45 seconds. The location in downtown Stellenbosch is fantastic -- across the street from a beautiful church and just one block from dozens of cafes and restaurants. And, of course, it's convenient to tons of wineries. Breakfast was served promptly, was delicious, and included everything one could want. This is a great guest house.

Gwen & Johan were incredibly helpful, and offered lots of recommendations both for restaurants and (most importantly for us) wine tours! Indeed, we hadn't even checked in and had made the online reservation a couple of hours earlier and they were helping us book a wine tour!

On arrival our welcome was so friendly
and warm and we felt at home straight away. Beautiful gardens and building, with fine rooms. Our bedroom was stunning - large comfortable and a fab balcony.All the staff were great and did so much to make our stay perfect. Reserved supper, spoilt us when we sat by the tranquil swimming pool. Perfection. Loved our stay and thought the beach basket with towels was a wonderful addition.

The owners and staff of this Guest House made us very welcome. The room was furnished to a high standard and all the facilities were immaculately maintained. Loved the pool and pool deck, my upstairs room with the beautiful terrace overlooking the mountains, the large shower, the complimentary sherry in the room (didn't last long!) and -mostly- Forest, the gorgeous Great Dane, a real gentle giant of a dog. - The staff is very friendly and there's an excellent service.
