The service and rooms are excellent. The location is good for the waterfront. I would highly recommend it.

Great location and easy access to main sites. Rooms are essentially apartments and staff is very attentive.

The hotel had several private functions happening during my visit which restricted access to areas such as the rooftop bar, pool and restaurant. Manager made efforts to make up for it but was still a bit inconvenient.

The accommodation exceeded our expectations. Very clean, spacious and comfortable. The bathrooms were well-stocked with the necessary amenities and plenty of towels! The location was fantastic with a number of great restaurants, plus the Waterfront is also not too far. Free wi-fi was great too!

Waiting 30 minutes for an iron and iron board, which made my husband late for his meeting. Some channels not showing in our apartment and we had to make follow up calls to fix that - inconsistent service levels not good for a 5-star hotel.

We had a great stay at this hotel,it's an easy walk to the V&A it has a funky bar on top of the hotel with lovely staff and very good sushi. We did encounter a small problem at the hotel but it was dealt with swiftly and very proffessionally.we will definitely stay here again.

The room was fine, but the had a problem with the glass doors, lots of wind noise and we could not sleep until the wind died down. The pool, they should say the pool is not for guest at all. The other reason I stayed at the Cape Royal was because of the pool area, but we could not use the pool because it was always busy(Private Functions), What about the guests??? More like 3 STAR!!!

Room size (self-contained two-bedrooom flat/suite of approx 100m2,with kitchen, machines, and balconettes.. The thoughtful opulence. The breakfast: The mind-boggling 'spa menu',although we did not peruse it. The roofrop pool/bar area.

The ceremonial public welcome at reception with a gong (at midnight). The absence of a 'Do not Disturb' sign and the resulting unwelcome insistent doorbell ringing by Housekeeeping on a Saturday morning. No minibar (bring your own or get it from downstairs. Finally, a 'tray charge of R100 ($10) for room service after 10 pm.

The staff and service were excellent and really went the extra mile. My Grandmother forgot her book in the hotel, and the next day it was arranged for us to receive the book the following week in Johannesburg. The Room/Apartment was beautifully furnished and exceeded our expectations, and the restaurant Bistro 1800 was exceptional. I would highly recommend this Hotel to any one wishing to visit Cape Town.

The location was great - The helpful and friendly - but not overly familiar - staff : The cleanliness of the room and the personal attention of the customer services manager Sedick and the general manager Thomas; who made sure that our expectations were met. The suite had full kitchen facilities (too much for us!) which meant that coffee/tea toast etc could be rustled up.

We had to ask for a number of very small things that should have been in the room - felt like we were being demanding - but housekeeping and the managers were on it straight away so no problem really

Good and big Rooms, excellent bar and pool on the roof. Good BISTRO 1800 restaurant in the Hotel and good room service . Location is convenient for any trip by taxi.

1) Free Internet is limited and even when you pay for it then it is limited anyway and expesive. 2) No facilities for self cooking but there is a big kitchen which containes tea cups and some plates only. 3)

We stayed for 6 nights in 'deluxe one-bedroom suite with living area'. The hotel location is at the centre of the city, European design hotel and very comfortable and clean. We had a spacious one bedroom with dining-living room area and kitchen facilities (microwave,oven, washer-dryer); and very nice two-sides view. We like it when they provided us with 2-person basic cooking and eating utensils upon request. The free internet access (1024 MB) given to us was enough for the whole stay since we used it only for emails. We like it when the staff (Mr Sidek) made an extra effort to make reservation for dinner reservation for us. The staffs react to our phone requests promptly. The bar and swiming pool deck on top of the hotel is very relaxing, nice design and has excellence view of the city. I like to come back to this hotel again and recommend to my friends.

We expected a bath tub (instead only shower) for a 'suite' room. Despite their excellence service we were not very happy when the shuttle service did not come to pick-us at the water-front although we have called to confirm it. I made a complaint but there was no feedback. Another thing, bathroom amenities and towels were not replenished and kitchen garbage was not collected in some days (inconsistent). If not because of these, I would also give score of 10 to 'staff' and 'facilities'.

The friendliness of all the staff; the personal touches; the modern design inside - classical outside; the views; the spacious rooms; the location; WiFi; luxury touches in the suite (toiletries, towels, etc); a really great experience!!

Pick-up / drop-off / parking is a bit of a pain but workable; breakfast is disproportionately expensive but there are some really nice local options a few metres away

The staff were very friendly and helpful and could not do enough for you. Thomas and George were very kind. The restaurant was fantastic. The facilities were great. We had a symposium and meeting there and found the staff and the venue to be ideal.

The staff are really attentive, the decor beautiful and the suite very spacious! The free wifi is also a big plus!

Coffee pods were provided, but no coffee machine. Not sufficient crockery - we were a family of 4, but we had for example 3 small plates and 1 cereal bowl. The breakfast was also very pricey in comparison to the previous times we stayed at the hotel.

THE place o stay if you visit Capetown. The staff are super friendly, nothing is too hard. Richard the manager on duty the 4 days that we were there was excellent. Could not recommend this hotel more highly. Well done Cape Royale !
