It is an excellent boutique hotel in a very good location. Everything is close- the Hermitage, Nevsky prospect, the Dome etc. Staff is very friendly, extremely helpful and polite. I'd like to commend Vasili,- an exceptionally professional receptionist. The hotel is full of character, decorated with taste which becomes the old building in the grand part of St. Petersburg. Very clean, has around the clock self-service stand of coffee and tea in the lobby, good internet connection.

The hotel is situated very centrally at a walking distance from sights and metro stops. The interior is beautiful, the paintings in passages and rooms a nice touch. My single room was smallish but not at all claustrophobic. The bed was really comfortable with luxurious bedclothes. The bathroom was spacious, of gleaming marble and like the room and all the spaces I saw, really clean and fresh. The toiletries were of good quality, too. The otel design is unique. Paintings everywhere is a very good idea. Staff is friendly. Location is perfect, just near to the Kazan Kathedral, every important place of St.Pet. is on a wailikng distance and Nevski Street is nearby. Contrary to some negative comments, my room was silent. Perfect cost/quality ratio, good place going to St.Pet as 1-2 people

I was a roomy two-bedroom apartment in a classic building, with entry from inside the courtyard. All the facilities were there, including a full kitchen and a washing machine for laundry.
The neighbor was nice although it was a considerable walk to Metro.

The Anchikov has only a few rooms and the staff really treat all of their guests like a kings and queens. The staff were superb and always on hand to help. The location was ideal and meant that everything in the historic heart of the city was within walking distance. The water cooler was very handy!
