Comfortable room with plenty of facilities/space. Staff were friendly, helpful and gave us lots of information.
Aloha is in a good situation for the bay of islands, Russell, Waitangi etc.
You can get a tour to 90 mile beach from Paihia, although we drove and thoroughly enjoyed the trip.
Good restaurants in town - about a ten minute walk. Overall

we stayed here for the night as a gift for our wedding nite and loved the flowers that were left in our room from the lovely gardens from the staff at the motel, a lovely touch, thank you. Wine & chocolates were left for the room by my parents which the staff put into our room before our arrival, big thanks for doing that. Great facilities and a relaxing stay

Staff were friendly and welcoming on arrival. Room was clean and comfortable and facilities were very good. We had a ground floor sea view, which wasn't strictly a sea view as most of the time, cars were parked directly across from the room as there was parking for the beach. The beach was literally across the street, though so it was still a good spot. Restaurants, the wharf and the centre is a 15 minute walk from the accommodation, so pretty good location.

We stayed four nights in March 2013 and needed the break after being robbed in Auckland. Jan and Kevin were unobtrusive but always there with help or information when we needed it.
The location is a few kilometres "out of town" and we loved this. The town was too busy for us with constant traffic and people coming and going on the ferries.

I found The Retreat while googling accommodation in Paihia. After a long drive from South Auckland I was welcomed with a big genuine smile from Jan, who showed me my room with the spectacular view from the deck.
The furniture is a dated and old but clean and the bed was really comfortable.
The view from the deck is spectacular and I managed to get some wonderful sunset photos. The peace and tranquility ideal for the relaxing get-away I was looking to have. I would recommend this to anyone w

Good Location if you have a car, a bit far to walk to the town centre but was fantastic having a pool and trampoline for our son to play on and the spa was lovely. Staff were very friendly and helpful, we would love to stay again but we would stay on the bottom floor as you have easy access to the pool and the car park. The countdown is right next

had a lovely relaxing time here.facilites were great ie the suite stayed in was immaculate,luxurious and everything u need for a nice weekend break. LOVED the jacqussi bath.weather was poor at time of stay but definately going back in summer to utilise the rest of the facilities that looked great..swimming pool and hot tub.

The staff was really friendly, and the room was amazing. My partner and I were really keen to find somewhere with kitchen facilities so we didn't have to eat out too much and Sea Spray had a really good kitchenette and all the basic equipment you'd need.
It was an easy walk to a supermarket as well as the town. Bar fridge was decent price compared to other accommodation I've stayed at.
The room was really clean and very comfortable, If in Paihia again we will definitely book here again.

The reception give you plenty of information about the local area as well as a booklet containing more info & vouchers. -

we thoroughly enjoyed the comfort a loved the friendliness of staff during our stay. It was well located away from the busy main street yet so convinient as this was within walking distance from everything. it was nice and relaxing to come back to a nice clean room and be able to pop in to the spa. -
