The room was a good size, nicely furnished and with a working tv. The
bathroom was really nice too, very clean and had a hair dryer. We loved
our stay here as it was right next to the flower markets so it was easy
to find our way there (once we already knew where it was) and it
wasn't too loud at night. -

The location is very central, all rooms overlook the canal, the owner is
super nice and helpful, both the room and the bathroom are spacious and
have everything you may need there (I.E. hair dyer, bath robes, basic
cosmetics, complimentary bottle of bubbly, mini bar). You can get
anywhere by foot in less than 30 mins. Breakfast is massive and includes
freshly squeezed orange juice, eggs of choice, salmon, cheeses, fruit,
croissants etc. Maps and tourist guides are also available.

Gijs was an excellent host. He helped us before arrival and during the stay. We loved the character of the house (we stayed in the loft room). It was very close to everything in Amsterdam. Rather than feeling like a tourist staying in a hotel, we felt like we are staying in our own house. Perfect value for money! Amazing breakfast.

We booked expecting a room in a guest house and were stunned to find a beautifully decorated and comfortabe room overlookingt the Amstel river. Our family room was very large with a double bed, a single bed and two very comfortable sofas;an additional bonus was that you could slide double doors across to separate into two individual bedrooms. The weather outside was cold but the heating was on 24 hours with adjustable radiators.

Excellent location, all the attractions/places to visit are within 5-10 mins walk of the hotel. A canal tour and coffee shop are situated right outside the door.
We had the double room with private bathroom, very spacious and comfortable. Also a little rooftop terrace with beautiful views.

Dennis and Martine were wonderful hosts. Dennis is, in his wife's own words, the entertainer!!! The free private boat trip/history lesson was great. My girlfriend and I loved it!!!!! I ended up steering the boat on a hot sunny afternoon and I cannot think of a better way of seeing the city. Freshly cooked bread is delivered to you every morning and a free well stocked fridge on arrival is a very nice touch. My host was very nice! The place was nice and comfortable. It's like a home away from home. It was quiet except for the church bells ringing nearby but given all the possible noise somewhere else, I'll take the church bells anytime! Also serves as an alarm clock for 8am. If the other occupants are rowdy the host will tell them to be quiet.
