  Nice japanese style rooms. The hotel is on the main road but it is not noisy in the rooms. Good situated, next to the Shinkyo bridge, so you can easily reach the main attractions. Bus stop is in the front. The onsen area is nice. - Close to temples but we could have easily parked there as it was not busy.   The best thing about this B&B is the relaxing bath with glass windows overlooking the river -this is not a real onsen, i.e., the water is not from a hot spring, but it is good. I also appreciated that the room had an ensuite bathroom+toilet, which is not always the case in Japanese B&Bs. It is just a 3 minute walk from the Kanmangafuchi Abyss/Bake Jizo that has a long line of small Jizo statues with t - Location is really good for the main sites and bus stops. I got a very useful custom made area map when checking in, with good explanation on what is where, tips for sightseeing and general. Very good. There is in-house hot spring bath, 2 private bathrooms. The breakfast is not too rich (basically toast, fruits and a boiled egg), but it was big enough to fill, and the lady who prepared it was really nice too. I still recommend it. Take the bus to see Kegan Fall, it is beautiful.

  We spent 1 night in the hotel/Ryokan. Really nice to stay in quite a traditional accommodation. The staff spoke fair English, by Japanese standards. Was very cute that my name was up on a welcome sign and next to my shoe spot. The Japanese breakfast was a good experience, although I didn - When we checked in, we though that we will have a room with a bathroom. Nope! It has only toilet. And we needed to use hotel's common bath. It turned out to be a very good experience using Japanese common bath. It is very clean and very relaxing in hot tub. My second favorite is Japanese gourmet, both dinner and breakfast. They are big meal, I must say. They serve a local specialty called Yuba, which are dishes made from Tofu. Not bad at all. Location is amazing especially during October-November due to the magnificent foliage. This hotel is not just a place you come to stay - Beautiful location in a valley with pretty river running past outside the room window. Very traditional style building and room. Amazing traditional dining experience with own private room and barbecue fire in table, whilst dressed in (mandatory!) traditional attire supplied by the hotel. A real Japanese experience!! Helpful staff one of which spoke good English, rare in such an isolated spot.
