The location: only really suitable if you have a car, unless there is a bus from town. Maybe get a taxi? It's located in a charming hot spring resort, which is actually worth a visit for the experience but it is hard to find & far from Matsumoto itself (about 10/15 minutes drive).
great onsens including the possibility to use them privatly; good (traditional) rooms; nice meals
a bit challenging as the staff knows little to know English (but we managed well enough); easy enough to reach by bus but we had to ask at the tourist info (as email communication beforehand didn't work, see above)
Staff were very helpful and generous.
It was not clear that dinner was included in the tariff so we ate before arriving only to be offered a full dinner!
Amazing food Friendly staff (even if they didn't speak much English) Onsen so beautiful! So relaxing staying here. Quiet.
