The hotel has an old world charm to it and at the same time it is well equipped with modern amenities. We were upgraded from a garden view room to the Ghorpade suite which was great. The staff were really great - nothing was too much trouble. Food in restaurant was excellent, both breakfast & evening meals. First night we phoned down to say the wifi signal was very weak, and in minutes the porter was up with a wifi booster for the room. Signal was excellent after that. Handy location for shops etc, and not too far to walk to the waterfront via busy trading street lined with interesting small businesses. Easy to get transport to airport. Gave me some interesting material for my next novel after successfully publishing Changing Pillion, an adventure romance, released in2012.

We stayed in one of the suite rooms which consisted of a nice room with ac, tv with loads of channels and an attached bathroom plus a lounge area kitchen and large terrace shared with one other suite room. I would recommend it for the little extra it costs.

This is superior budget option with internet cafe, food cafe, tour advice, backwater boat tickets, and really smart and interesting staff who will do everything to make an excellent stay in Kochi. Also comfortable rooms with 24 hour hot water.
