The location was perfect.
Nice home-feeling place to stay with a family.
The lady of the house was extremely helpful and kind: she ordered us a tour plus a taxi to the airport since we wanted to save a bit time due to our early morning flight.
WI-Fi was nice; with our gadgets we could plan the next day in Reykjavik. -

This place must be the best value in Reykjavik. I walked into my room and had a mini-jaw drop as I saw the quality of the furnishings, the comfortable bed, the NEWness of everything, and a well-stocked kitchenette. Breakfast is a tray of goodies - bread, jams, cheese. They also provide cartons of milk and orange juice that you are free to use up.

Everything was great - clean, spacious, comfortable, well-equipped (wifi in room, kitchen facilities, ipod dock), and the bath was lovely. The staff were friendly & helpful, dealing with some of my tourist queries including phone calls to local tour companies. The location is very central and you can walk to all shopping, bars, restaurants, harbour etc. Most tour companies pick up and drop off outside the hotel.

The hotel has perfect location in the center of the city close to everything. The apartment is fully equipped including some condiments in the kitchen. We rented 2 one-bedroom apartments for 2 families and enjoyed it a lot. Hotel staff was extremely helpful. THey checked us in as soon as we arrived into 1 apartment and quickly cleaned the second apartment so that we can rest after an ovenight flight from NY. Everything! The apartment was very spacious for a group of three friends
and it was tastefully decorated. We had more than the facilities that we
needed as our homebase in Iceland. We were happy to find a washing
machine in our apartment. The location is very good because it's at
the street towards the main commercial area of Laugavegur. Parking was
also available but on a first come first served basis. It made our trip
to Iceland comfortable.

We stayed in the Vatnsstigur 11 building, which is perfectly located just off the main street Laugevegur - close to everything, but not disturbed by nightlife at all. The location is very good as it is very close to the shops, church, grocery and iceland excursions terminal and main office. Room 504 is really nice with kitchen, balcony, living room and 2 single beds. I was very happy with the kitchen because it's got everything! We rented the studio apartment for a week. We were making a first visit to the University. Innkeeper Thorri was very helpful and kind. As we walked around Reykjavik, we never saw a better value for this level of amenities and character. We love staying in historic and cultured homes like Gastafell. The 1 bedroom apartment was fully equipped and in a wonderful quiet location but literally minutes from everything. Breakfast was excellent.

I've been once before and choosing a Hotel for my wife's 60th birthday remembered Hotel Holt for its atmosphere, its wonderful collection of paintings and its excellent food. Of course it is also within walking distance of everywhere you want to go. The hotel fully lived up to my recollections and went down very well with my artistic wife.
