Lo que la gente dice
We arrived early, unannounced, and were warmly welcomed and shown to our room even though it was not quite ready. One of the owners proceeded to put the duvets and pillowcases on the bed while we chatted with her, just as a friend might do with a house guest. She booked us on very short notice with a small van tour of the Golden Circle and the next day her husband arranged our transportation back to the airport. They really took care of us even though we were only there overnight. As other . todo comentarios »
Good clean and warm guesthouse. Very warm, casual and homely welcome from owners Edda and Runar. Very clean, comfortable and warm room with good fast wifi Internet. Breakfast buffet incredibly good, and they will accommodate you if you need some extra rest in the morning. Edda and Runar very helpful in general when I needed to find somewhere in the city or arrange anything. They also arranged a great Golden Circle tour for me with pickup from the door; I was even provided with packed lunc.
Excellent guesthouse with very friendly owner and nice, big rooms. Near both the city centre and the BSI Bus Terminal it is well located. When Edda found out that due to an early bus trip I couldn't use their breakfast she even made me a little lunch package. If you're lucky, Ragi the big red cat will pay you a visit at night.
All in all, a very recommendable guesthouse.
Edda and Runar were amazing hosts, making staying at their guesthouse a truly unique part of my trip to Reykjavík. Their breakfasts every morning were well rounded and their hospitality impeccable. They were so willing to help you organise tours or give you local suggestions of what to do. The location is perfect for the city and I had a great time staying here!.
Edda and Runar are abosolutely phenominal - I have never felt so welcomed and part of the family. Breakfast was great, and it was so nice to get to chat with people from all over the world each morning. My room was spotless and had everything I could need! I come to Iceland several times a year, and will definitely be staying with Edda and Runar each time!.
The location was excellent! Right across from the Hallsgrimskirkja with virtually all other sights, restaurants, and transportation less than a 10 min walk. Also, the hosts were very friendly and welcoming. They breakfast options were extensive and they were flexible when I needed to leave early on tours a couple days.
Excellent guesthouse in a great location. It's right by Hallgrímskirkja putting the center and the BSI bus station within easy reach on foot. The couple who runs the house are very friendly and knowledgeable about the city/country. The atmosphere is that of a home, not of a hotel. Good breakfast.
Awesome and very helpful staff, friendly approach, five stars for it.
Quite large choice of food for breakfast. Location: excellent,
practically next to Hallgrímskirkja church, few minutes from
Reykjavik's centre or bus station, a bit further (but still
comfortably close) from Harpa.
The innkeepers Edda and Runar went above and beyond to make our visit to
Iceland comfortable. I would recommend Eric the Red 100 times over. We
will be staying there again next time we are in Reykjavik. I really
can't say enough nice things about this place.
Loved all the art work and traditional furniture filling the house; great that it was in such easy walking distance to central Reykjavik, sights and museums and pools; excellent breakfast; friendly host willing to talk about Iceland.
The family running the guesthouse is very charming and helpful. They also organize day tours to the surrounding mountains that we highly recommend, very good experience! Say hi to Ragi the cat!.
The host and hostess were most gracious and helpful in suggesting and helping to facilitate our exploration of the area. Also the breakfasts were terrific. And the location was perfect.
The staff were absolutely lovely, accommodating and helpful. The rooms were of a good standard and the breakfast felt like a real family affair - just delightful!.
The housekeepers are very warm hearted. Because of the bad weather I couldn't get my baggage when I arrived. They did me a graet favour!.
breakfast is wonderful. Staff is kind and helpful. The location is great, too!.
Small place, individual service.
Was up when I arrived after midnight.
Great location, friendly and accommodating. Excellent breakfast.
Location is amazing and the staff made it a very enjoyable stay.
Location, friendly family atmosphere of owners, low cost.
good breakfast,
nice host,
very close to the CHURCH.
The host is soooo nice ! We like them !.
Everything is so excellent !!.
Everthing.
Located next to a cathedral which is viewable from anywhere in the city so you'll never get lost!
The lady who runs it was very friendly and did a great breakfast.
we did not like.
A slight misunderstanding regarding payment method and a discount, but it was resolved in the end and all was well.
It could be a little better signposted as it is quite hard to discover when walking by. For the rest, nothing negative whatsoever.
none!!!!.
I was in one of the downstairs rooms and it could be a little noisy with other guests opening & shutting doors and talking in the hall, but that is more of a reflection on the guests than on Eric the Red.
Somewhat slow Wi-Fi;
Breakfast only served for one hour.
Water in our room smelled like sulphur, but that may be just temporary,
since breakfast coffee/tea/anything was normal and tasty.
My en-suite single room was a bit basic; I could hear the plumbing as it seemed like boxed-in pipes in there, however it didn't spoil the stay! Bed was comfy, there was a kettle and fridge, so FINE!.
Can't think of anything we didn't like.
Nothing of note.
Approach via gloomy basement corridor.
Very small bathroom.
Nothing.
High price but I doubt Reykjavik has a budget option for places to stay!.
it was very dinghy and roundown place with expose wires, molded electric kettles, not very clean bathroom with siliver size. And it was very expensive for that place.
