Lo que la gente dice
We booked the suite for 2 nights and it was an excellent price. Large room with 2-seater couch, and a good-sized desk that easily took our 2 computers (we travel on hols for 6 weeks so need to keep up-to-date with work!). Internet connection was best in 2 weeks in Fance so far. Breakfast baguettes were superb, as was the range of beautiful jams. Good range of cheese, yoghurts and fresh fruit too. The new owners have done a fantastic job of renovating. Bathroom a little awkward, as there w. todo comentarios »
In booking a hotel in Caen, I was looking for a place with charm and character (not a plastic hotel). Hotel Francois d'O fit the bill perfectly. There is a beautiful garden courtyard that we ate in one morning with a view of the old church steeple. The location is perfect - a short walk to the castle and the shopping/restaurant district, as well as one of the Abbey's. If you're there on a Friday morning, do not miss the market; a tradition in Caen dating back to the 9th century!.
This hotel is in a great location and it was the best place I stayed in while in France for 4 weeks.
This family run hotel by mother, daughter and husband was the best, they arranged tours to the Normandy beaches and gave me a great restaurant to go while I was there.
I have also some great pictures
off the hotel to show.
Fantastic location in the old part of the city, within walking distance of many main sites and right next to the tram to the station. The girls at reception were fantastic, providing very helpful information (in english). My room was compact, but comfortable and good value for money.
Staff were very friendly, helpful and made it easy for us with their good English skills. An older hotel but well looked after and very comfortable with modern bathroom facilities. Nice breakfast. Convenient city location close to 'old Caen'. We enjoyed our stay and would go again.
Very friendly and helpful staff who were happy to help improve my basic
French. Found us space to safely leave our bikes. Room was fine and
breakfast lovely. Hôtel is short walk from William the Conqueror's
castle and shops/bars etc in centre of Caen.
The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable, our knowledge of French
and the staff's knowledge of English made our stay very pleasant.
Rooms were very clean and the Hotel is well situated, but very hard to
find, even for a taxi driver.
Quite small hotel; very friendly and helpful staff; good breakfast (although not royal - but definitely enough choice); very clean, modern bathroom and nice furniture; we had the 'luxury room' (number 4) which was extra spacious.
Very friendly and helpful staff/proprietor. The hotel is an old townhouse that has been renovated with taste. Of course it's not a flashy place, but very nice for those of us that prefer character to conformity.
Lovely staff who spoke good English so were able to cater to our needs quickly and professionally. Lovely clean rooms with wifi and television, morning breakfast also very nice, good value for money.
The location was perfect, right in the center of town and within walking distance to everything. We really enjoyed the Friday farmers market, Caen Castle, Impressionist Museum and all the churches.
Lovely helpful hosts. Nicely remodeled. Historic building near town center. Comfortable bed. Decent size room for France (small for USA standards.).
Very welcoming and accommodating. Nice room, nice breakfast. Indoor secure storage provided for bicycles. Good location for exploring Caen.
Lovely breakfast, good location, easy to walk to a selection of
restaurants, very pleasant people in charge, bed comfortable enough.
Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent location. The top floor room was quiet and cool without air conditioning. Nice and clean.
The hotel is well located, a short walk from all the central attractions.
Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Location right in heart of old town was fab. Room v. comfortable, and breakfast good. Good value for money.

Location
Bed.
Close to town centre.
Good location, in centre. Staff very friendly.
The owners were very pleasant and helpful.
There is nothing not to like about this hotel.
As an old building, there are some stairs. The hotel can be difficult to find as it's located on a very narrow, small street (but great when you get there).
After wwii, Caen was in ruins and is now not perhaps the most
attractive city.
No elevator and getting luggage to the 4th floor was a challenge.
No off site parking as was advertised. We had a rental car and it
was cumbersome to pay attention to the meters and times where one
could park.
Caen itself is not a very beautiful town, but the hotel is centrally located within walking distance of the castle and lots of restaurants, and Caen is a good place to discover the Normandy coast, so overall we were happy with the location. Rooms indeed are quite noisy (whereas the info says they are soundproof), but we didn't mind.
No parking, had to pay to park on the street, plugging the meter was not fun.
Very hard to find...down a small road that says do not enter. Tiny bathroom. No elevator, but the owners helped to carry our bags to the fourth floor.
We were up three flights of stairs but Monsieur kindly helped carry a
big suitcase up.
Public parking; might be tricky to find a place near the hotel.
Lack of parking.having to watch parking meters and feed them.
We were locked out of the hotel at 9pm, because we had not been given the door code and did not realise the door would be locked so early. However, we were not charged for breakfast because of this, which was v. generious.
No lift ( on 2nd floor, so not too bad)
Very noisy toilet refilling system as it uses electric pump
Small shower.
Small bathroom.
Not too many shops open. Most french people on holiday.
Door key awkward.
Not enough outlets.
Difficult to find, even with sat/nav. No car park, although several car parks nearby(full when we arrived).
No parking, parking offered was on the street. Room small and very warm. Not worth 70 euros per night.
The facilities are lacking. Cramped rooms and baths. Door locks/keys were defective.
