Madison Manor B&B and Pub - Fotos
Lo que la gente dice
This hotel is a perfect blend of value, location, and comfort. Why stay
in a cookie-cutter chain when you can stay at the Madison? City-run
bicycle rentals are just outside, the subway is around the block, and
many great restaurants are within walking distance. Did I mention that
it also has the Madison Pub next door? I will only stay at the Madison
on my future visits to Toronto!.
The location is excellent. It's a bit away from the city center, and in the middle of a university campus area. Best of all, it's right by a subway station with access to both the light rail and a streetcar line.
The building is a series of old mansions that have been refurbished as a hotel, and it's comfortable and clean. There is a pretty good pub right on the premises, too.todo comentarios »
It was a really cool little hotel and being right by a train station made it very accessible to everything I wanted to see. The bar beside it only matters if you're a light sleeper. Never bugged me, and was actually kind of a fun place for a couple pints.
The price is good for the great location, the decor historic and charming, the bed was comfortable, the bathroom very clean. The attached pub was convenient. It was nice to have buffet breakfast included, although it was somewhat limited.
Location - only a few minutes by subway to the theatres. Price - was significantly cheaper than any of the 'name brand' hotels. Liked the fact that a continental breakfast and a voucher for the pub next door was included.
Location, location, location! The staff was great, the food at the pub was very good & reasonably priced, and the room was great. I read several reviews about noise and was a bit worried but we heard nothing.
The Victorian Mansion style was great! Staff were very pleasant. It
would be nice to have oatmeal packs for a hot meal choice, otherwise the
continental breakfast was great.
-upgraded without cost because they had room and it was our 35th anniversary.
-classy antique feel about everything
-nice coupon for the pub
-helpful staff
-close to subway.
Very comfortable and clean room; huge locker (spacious enough to put a laptop); fast internet connection; complimentary meal voucher; charming decor and furniture.
I liked that this B&B was close to all the places I wanted to visit. The room itself smelled a little funky, but everything was clean and nice.
Nice place, good breakfast, good pub, just right to visit Toronto for a couple of days.
Location was great. Room - we had a suite - was very nice and very clean.
Location, appearance attractive none-the-less; nobody bothered me.
all was well for a quite Sunday night stay in a classy old manor.
Clean, comfortable. Good value for the money. Easy to find.
Staff were excellent. Very accomadating. Friendly.
decoration.
Location, price.
comfortable.
location.
Location.
Good clean shower in the room.
Close to public transport.
Good restaurants close by.
cute and convenient to downtown and university.
Location, in a beautiful neighbourhood.
Only two things keep the Madison from being absolutely perfect: the
pillows (call it personal preference) and no flat-panel TVs.
These are minor quibbles: the pub attracts hordes of university kids on the weekends, but it wasn't loud enough to keep me awake. A lighter sleeper may want to pack a white noise machine. Also, breakfast pickings are slim, but should be adequate for anyone who's just looking for quick morning fuel as opposed to a sit-down meal. There are a couple of decent cafes within short walking distance.
The front desk girl was a little surly, but I only had to talk to her once.
The lack of an elevator meant the climb to the 4th floor carrying our luggage was difficult - and there was no offer of help from staff.
The room was slightly small, and there wasn't really a space to iron clothing. However, this were only minor inconveniences.
The ice machine was not working but we just took the ice bucket to the pub and they filled it.
It took 24 hours to get my room phone fixed. I asked 3 times for
assistance. Strange...
3rd floor accommodations not for the faint hearted!.
Breakfast could be improved (adding fresh juices and yoghurt for instance and extending breakfast time for additional 30 minutes).
Also, for a quiet room be sure to ask for one on the opposite side of the house from the pub. Sounds like it can get noisy at times. Also, there is no free parking near the place, so you can either pay $16 a day for the parking lot a few meters away or $18 for the B&B's parking pass.
The carpet and furniture and bathroom were a little old, but the room was OK and clean.
The included breakfast was a real disappointment. We had dinner at the pub and it was great, so we thought the breakfast would be at least adequate. We thought wrong. Selection was limited and the bagels were stale. Would recommend fresh bread and orange juice at least.
A bit overdone in terms of decor, trying to be 'mansion trendy',
$20 less re room charge would be ok.
Very limited parking for hotel proper (3) stalls. Although a paid city parking lot was directly behind the property.
Some of the main common rooms smelled a little musty....likely a good "deep cleaning" of carpets would go far to removing the smell.
The stairs were really bad. I have MS and travelled alone found stairs really bad. No help to carry luggage.
No elevator, wi-fi was spotty.
wifi, too loud.
This was our fourth (and will be our last) visit and each time there was a problem with the door keys.
Breakfast is very so-so.
Being put in basement. The loudness.
Noise from Halloween party in the next door pub.
The read carpet in the room was quite dusty.
It does not feel like a B&B, more like a cheap hotel.
Taxes were not included in the price.
right next door to very popular and loud undergrad bar, a/c did not work in my room.
No heat in the building. Apparently it was turned off for the season.
Too many stairs. No assistance. Unfriendly front desk clerk.
