Perfect for a two-three day getaway and would work well if the beach is not an option (winter) or just to mix it up before/after a few days at the beach. The area itself is interesting and from what I gather has some cool drinking holes and restaurants. One could start and finish a book in peace here, yet 'feel Brazilian', and not feel they need to join the flock of tourists seeing the usuals in Rio. I enjoyed spending time at the bar, restaurant and spa - perfect for a day of indulgence!

Fuimos a pasar el aniversario 25 años de matrimonio y encontramos en Altos de Santa Teresa un lugar precioso, con una atención personalizada, con una mezcla entre el bosque natural que lo rodea con una vista espectacular sobre toda la ciudad, y todo esto en el tradicional barrio de Santa Teresa, donde se tienen excelentes bares y restaurantes.

We arrived after a long frustrating travel to a warm local welcome smiling face and a free caprinhi. Which made us relaxed, the upstairs living area was lush with wood floors throughout and the you look right through the wall to wall glass doors to an awe inspiring view of the city with sugar loaf mountain in the far left distance and Christ the redeemer on the hills to the right. What is there not to like? -
