The views of downtown Boston from the B&B are fabulous. The location is great - close to the t stop making Boston very accessible and near a great running trail and kiddie playground. Fabulous food - cookies at 4, tea and coffee any time, and a homemade breakfast. Nice sitting room with tv, internet and books with views overlooking the ocean and city. The owners, Maggie and Joey, were very personable and accomodating as we have 2 young children (ages 2 and 4).
all reviews » Lovely old property in a very pretty spot, accessible by public transport from Boston ( the bus drops you off right outside). The view is also stunning. Magpie is a wonderful host, attentive without being overbearing and the food is excellent. She is also very good at giving full and detailed information on how to get to the B&B in advance. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. Maggie and Joey were really welcoming, and the room and their home was lovely. It's fairly close to Boston to get there on public transport and we started each day with a wonderful breakfast that included fresh fruit and home made muffins/scones, plus Maggie's amazing granola (which she was kind enough to provide me the recipe for). A great place to stay :-). All in all a pleasant surprise for me. I am from the north shore of Boston and never knew the nice qualities Winthrop offered. I really like the area. The close proxsimity to the airport and overhead planes really did not seem a deterrent to the overall pleasant quality of the Inn. Everything. From the view in the morning and the breakfast, to just how comfortable the place was. I loved it all and look forward to being able to return to Boston. Harrington House was very knowledgeable about what was going on and helped us out a lot in our venture. Wonderful room with a breathtaking view. Perfect hosts - very friendly, helpful and caring. Coffee, tea, cold drinks, cookies and fruit available all day. Great breakfast (everything fresh and top quality). Highly recommendable. The location was perfect for going into Boston. Bus at door stop that takes you to the train. Right on bay so you can see Boston from your room. Homemade goodies for breakfast and homemade cookies when you return. Absolutely everything. It has great views over Boston, owners are some of the nicest and most kind people I have ever met - nothing was to much trouble for them, house is amazing, breakfast is even more amazing. Friendly and clean. Maggie leaves some really nice cookies out every day. Joey helps with the luggage and will advise you about the beautiful sunsets. Exremely pleasant área - quite easy to reach Boston. Maggie and Joe were so very kind and helpful. There were homemade muffins and granola every morning with the best coffee to drink and homemade cookies every afternoon. Refreshments were available 24/7. Greeted by the owners and made to feel like family, located in a quaint little part of town where you could walk the streets at night to a local restaurant taking in the smell and sounds of the ocean. Joey and Maggie the owners are very nice. Breakfast was great. Coffee was always fresh and cookies at 4pm is a nice touch. The bedroom we stayed was clean, spacious and the view was outstanding. Location and access to public transport. Host was also very helpful and friendly. Also great value for money in Boston and great view of bay and city. Very nice breakfast also. Everything :). great breakfast very friendly host charming rooms quiet room and nice location. If you are over 6ft tall, you may struggle in the antique beds!. My boyfriend sleeps well, but I struggle and it was a little noisy, weekday mornings and Saturday evening (though it went quiet at 11.00pm and the noise from the people around and about stopped almost immediately :-) ). Nothing!. That I had to leave so soon or at all. Depending on the time of day going into Boston by bus and metro can be a bit time consuming. But this is just a tiny drawback. It's not that I dislike anything, but I can see this as a issue if you have 6 people there at once & that being there is only 1 bathroom. I feel there should be at least a 1/2 bath downstairs. No TV in the room is bad news.. Shared bathroom. Was not able to take the public transportation to its location. It would be nice to have your own tv in your room, however its not necessary. Nothing to not like. Absoluty nothing. Shared bathroom - 1 for 3 rooms, quite uncomfortable. The noise of the plains as the airport is very close. Not easy to navigate for disabled persons, so many stairs. Nothing negative. That I only had one night...would like to have stayed a week. They were so accommodating, I really have No negatives. Not a thing. nothing. What I didn't like is that I couldn't stay longer!. Community bathroom. Difficult access to Boston City. nothing. Nothing. Bathroom is very good and clean, but shared (this is not a complain, as we already knew, though). No ferry to Boston available until Summer, which we found a pity, as we had to use the bus + subway (not as nice a s a ferry). Not crazy about sharing a bath. could be cleaner, in particular the breakfast area. room was clean.
