We were staying at the Lodge to discuss arrangements for our daughter's wedding be held there next summer. The Lodge upgraded our room to a lakefront suite. The room was beautiful; full kitchen, dining room area, living room with two armchairs and couch, full bath with shower/tub, upstairs bedroom with full bath. The staff could not have been nicer and the setting of the Lodge on the lake is gorgeous with spectacular views of the Canadian Rocky Mountains. I would recommend it very highly.
all reviews » We love the pool and tiki bar area, and the rooms are great. The staff is incredibly friendly, the location is amazing. In the spring the price is reasonable (in the summer we both feel its probably over priced, but it is full, so others obviously disagree). Overall we love it, and really enjoy our time and would like to look more into staying with friends in one of the condos along the beach (attached to the hotel). Room at Viking Lodge, across the street, was gorgeous with comfy beds, huge shower, and fireplace.. Less $$ than the main lodge. Private, quiet lodge accessible via the Sky Bridge. Loved the restaurant on the deck, the pool, marina w/various rentals, main lodge with fireplace, espresso bar in the lobby!. Amazing service from front desk. Called down for extra hangers, minutes later they delivered to our room. We needed a can opener, called down, minutes later they delivered. We wanted to have a picnic, they told us where to go. We loved the natural beauty that surrounded the lodge; a lake, mountains, and a nature trail. The restaurant had a deck that overlooked the lake and the hot tub was incredible. Our room was very spacious with a fireplace. Amazing!! Location is great for skiing and for hiking and easy access to shopping malls in Kalispel. Amazing views of mountains and lake. The Lodge and its surroundings are beautiful. Whitefish Lake to the west, a wetlands preserve with walking paths to the east. The room was perfect. The workout area was useful and very well equipped. The room we had was a nice suite with fireplace and kitchenette. From the moment we arrived at the front entrance, the staff were all very welcoming and professional. Very relaxing couple of days. We booked our room this time with a description stating partial lake view, but when we arrived we were told we had no lake view whatsoever (we looked out over the parking lot). They wanted us to pay extra for any room changes. Also, it was 28 Celsius (mid Eighties Fahrenheit) and the pool was still closed, and the Tiki bar was closed as well which was a bit disappointing. The bed wasn't the most comfortable. The food at the hotel wasnt the best and was high priced. I ate two breakfasts and one dinner at the Lodge. I thought the quality of the food could have been much better, on a par with the excellence of all other aspects of the place. Not a thing. We didn't have time to enjoy the steam room, pools, spa, etc. We had hoped that some of those features might have been accessible over a wider time frame, especially later in the evening. We stayed in the Viking lodge. Half of the rooms face a large parking lot and the other half look at some trees with a fence. These rooms are cheaper, so you get what you pay for, but don't be deceived by their explanation that you'll be looking at a nature preserve. Just close the blinds and enjoy the awesome room. There was nothing we did not like. Outside bar near hot tub was closed... The menu at the bar and lounge could use some help! more appetizers and finger foods. If you arent happy here.....you are not a happy person. The marina was poorly manage with teenagers fooling around and not attending to guests. Also the outdoor bar felt like a local hangout. Someone charged stuff to our room and it wasn't us. Long-Distance Telephone Rates. no view of lake from our room. Housekeeping was very disappointing. First night, only one bar of soap for the lavatory, bathtub, and shower. Only one pair of sandals/slippers, two robes, but were so small one barely fit my. 130 lbs. wife. Second day had only one coffee packet, we had to leave a note asking for coffee. Third day, bathtub was not cleaned and now no coffee stirrers. Nice place, but housekeeping was much to be desired. Food was mediocre. There was no towels, tissues, napkins, nothing, to dry your hands by the kitchenette sink. Nothing to wipe up or use while eating! Very stupid! We had to go in the bathroom to get a tissue, or finally brought some napkins in from a restaurant!!. The inn was far from full during this time so a compliment upgrade to the lakeside inn would have been nice. The heater in our room blew cold air all night. We could do nothing to change or stop it. Whitefish Lodge is comprised of two separate facilities, the second called Viking Lodge, which is located across the highway. Access to main lodge amenities and the lake is inconvenient. Beware that when booking at the Lodge on Whitefish Lake you may be given a room in the Viking Lodge. Management will refuse to admit the inferiority of the accommodation or consider compensation. Also, If your intention is to visit Glacier Park, the location of this hotel is poor.
