The view of the moutains were breath taking! The generous lookout grounds had nice table and chairs provided to sit and enjoy the sun rise or set. Very relaxing, especially with a cup of coffee or a glass of wine. They also have a lovely garden area to enjoy. The grounds were immaculate and landscaped beautifully. We enjoyed sitting by the fireplace in the evening to laugh and share our day activies. Shopping was minutes away as well as top ranking restaurants. Highly recommend and will def.
all reviews » Beautiful grounds with plenty of seating, paths and garden spots. There was plenty of space between units. Roomy, clean accommodations with microwave, coffee maker, and a small refrigerator, friendly helpful staff and a nice patio wine bar. There are spectacular views from the heights down over Sedona, the Red Rocks, mesas and valleys. We liked that the lodge was not right in the middle of the noisy town, but was only a very short drive from it, and this meant. Prices were reasonable for the ar. We were impressed with the view, the grounds and the staff. I broke my leg at the grand canyon and my wife had back surgery and uses a cane so I called to ask for help to carry everything to the car since we were on the second floor. They said they would send someone ASAP. Minutes later Jerry shows up with "Happy to Help". Jerry is the electrician, but help was needed for a guest and Jerry came to our aid. A sincere "THANK YOU" Jerry. Jimmy & Laurie Wesolick Spring, Texas. The scenery is incredible! The location is great and the landscaping and gardens are well cared for. The rooms are clean though somewhat "dated". The area overall is quiet even with it being next to the airport. The restaurant at the airport next door is excellent! The price for this type of location in Sedona is excellent! We will go back but will book a different type of room (not garden view) so that we have much more privacy. The staff was first rate and very helpful!. This was a very pleasant surprise for us. The room, though older in style was very comfortable, large and clean. We had a nice view, a patio, a fireplace and the beds were good. The airport nearby was not an issue as flights ended at sunset and the airport had a great restaurant called the Mesa that we were able to walk to in just a few minutes. They had a patio area with sweeping views of the mountains that was breath taking. I would not hesitate to stay there again. I liked the feel of establishment of the lodge. It was serene and comfortable. Very quiet and well cared for even though it showed its age it was clean and comforatble. The grounds were beautiful and each room had a lovely outdoor space to breakfast at or just sit and enjoy. Dont change a thing. There are plenty of "NEW" places out there-I will be back to the Lodge!. Great location with a wonderful lookout point showing beautiful rock formations. There is a small bar so you can enjoy a glass of wine and watch the sunset. Each room was very spacious had it's own balcony. The wifi worked fine. A beautiful place! Spend the extra few dollars and get a room with a full view. You won't be disappointed. Highly recommended!. We very much enjoyed the view, and the staff was wonderful, particularly Patrick. Walking distance to the Mesa Grill at the airport, and despite the close proximity to the airport, we did not hear any planes or helicopters unless we were outside. We loved SRL, a garden of Eden on top of the desert. I admire the owner who planted all the trees and shrubs, loved the fountains and stream. Location on the mesa is outstanding, views are great. Nice staff, down to Earth, no pretensions like most places in Sedona. We'll definately visit you again!!. This was a lovely surprise. Everyone in the office was nice, friendly, and helpful. There is a wine and beer bar there and we enjoyed a glass of wine while watching the sunset from the lovely patio overlook. Then we cooled off in the pool with another glass of wine later in the evening. A quiet, comfortable place with a great view. Loved sitting on our deck in the morning watching the birds and rabbits. Alex, at front desk, was exceptionally helpful. Fun at the wine bar, and met great people at their wonderful view point. Will definitely stay there again!. Staff was outstanding. I loved the homey vibe. It was just such a comfortable, pleasant place to be. We had planned to go back pit and do some shopping after we checked in, but once we were there, we ended up just staying in, and enjoying the grounds and scenery. This is an older facility but it has been well maintained. It is more friendly and cozier than many chain box style hotels. Very clean and comfortable, great price. It is in a lovely Sedona location with a great view. The friendly staff and the great service for our hot water tank was not working well and withing 20 minutes after we called the reception desk someone came to check it out.....and that was in the evening. We arrived at night, so we went straight to our room. When we opened the window in the morning we were faced with a breathtaking view of Sedona and the surrounding mountains. I would stay there again. the scenery was breath-taking! The lovely town of Sedona nestled down below and the one-of-kind red-rock formations all around you are simply spectacular'. Had to have maintenance to our room and they came very quickly and solved the problem in minutes. I flew to Sedona airport, so the location is perfect. The staff is very professional and friendly and helpfull. located on top of a mesa, it's the best place to view the sunset on the rocks. I've been going to Sky Ranch Lodge for over 20 years and continue to enjoy the atmosphere, the well-maintained units and gardens, the friendly staff and its location. The balcony and the fireplace..the mourning doves singing ..the friendly staff..it seemed like Sky Ranch could have been frequented by John Wayne,back in the day. I liked the location.It was central to everything and also had the best view in the city. The microwave and fridge made it that much more appealing and convenient. We thought the rustic looking room was quite charming. We loved the little kitchen area and we were most impressed by the location near the lookout point. The position of the hotel was stunning, the view from the grounds at sunset was amazing , the grounds were lovely , meandering paths and plants . Perfect. The setting is spectacular. The views are stunning. It is very quiet and one awakes to birds chirping and the babbling brook (part of the landscaping). I liked everything about Sky Ranch Lodge!!. Very low wattage lighting. The decor was a bit tired and could use some attention. The basic garden view rooms are not very private. They are virtually right next to each other and if you neighbors have a dog that barks (or they are just loud and inconsiderate) the privacy leaves a lot to be desired. The bed was somewhat worn out or "soft" which tended to leave me with a backache. Skip the fruit blended drinks served at the bar. I wish we were told about the private veiwing area for guests-we found it right before we checked out-would have love toenjoy the sunsets/rise without the throngs of people at the adjacent public lookout:(. The helicopter tours leave from close by so there's some noise but nothing major. It's kind of fun to watch them. Also, you have to bring your own provisions or drive somewhere for breakfast, but there are lots of great restaurants in town. The rooms were outdated, which would have been ok considering the price, but the a/c unit made the most horrible noise I've ever heard a machine make without actually breaking. Of course it was 100 degrees outside (not an exaggeration) so turning it off was unbearable. It kept me up all night. It's probably just that room (don't let them put you in 261 !) but it ruined my trip. Otherwise I really liked the place, too bad. Although you would not stay in the room(s) too long because of the outside beauty, an upgraded flatscreen would make a difference in modern times A bit pricey, but worth it!. Not something that I didn't like as much as people who are fussy might not be in to the 70's style facility... It has everything you will want and is comfortable with fabulous views. If you are a relaxed traveler you will love this place. No complaints nor dislikes. We honestly can't think of anything we didn't like. We were concerned about being right next to the airport, and it wasn't noisy at all. In fact, it was quite convenient for our helicopter ride through the red rocks (recommended). None. Service was okay, but at both check in and check out alike, no one acknowledged us when we walked in. Both times, there were multiple workers behind the counter, but only one helping guests. I'm totally understanding of them not being able to stop what they're doing instantly, but it would make a lot of difference if they could say, "I'll be right with you." Or at least do anything to acknowledge the fact that I'm there waiting. When taking a shower there was an odor of mold coming from the shower curtain even though there was none to be seen. Just a little clorox would keep this from happening. Not enough lamps in the bedroom - very dark. The day before my last night, household had forgotten to replenish the tea bag, creamer & sugar. Luckily I had brought my own tea and sugar. The room was fine, just really dark!!. nothing. it was wonderful. There is no breakfast facility at the Lodge, but we found a very good café for breakfast not far away, which we recommend (The Golden Goose Café, try the combination plates, bacon and eggs and the waffles! You won't need lunch...). Had to think of something that could be different! The patios could be restained,thats the only thing I noticed but I loved it!. Can't think of anything..... Only restaurant within walking distance was very expensive, which seemed "out of place". The food was very good, though. Pillows were too squishy. there were hair in the bathroom and the toilet seat was looking old (told the staff, they said they were gonna take care of this) - I would absolutely recommend the skylodge anyway. The wind was strong and constant. The Mesa Grill was busy and the food was good. Nothing. I want to return soon. The fact that when there is a wedding, the overlook is not available for guests to watch the sunset. The beds were extremely hard. Can't think of a thing. The distance between Sedona and Oraange County--but then maybe that is a plus, too. I don't watch that much tv but it would have been nice to have a nice flat screen instead of the box. It isn't a complaint, really. The only negative was that the wi-fi was somewhat unreliable. The rooms are dated but they actually feel pretty homey. It did crack me up how low the wash basin is. Sometime in the 50's or 60's designers thought that bathroom sinks should be 27" high. Why? Who knows?.
