Lovely grounds, lushly planted, with well-maintained, uncrowded pool and plenty of chaises. Enjoyed hot tub, too. Good restaurant on premises so eating outside was enjoyable. We thought the location ideal, bordering on a quiet residential area but withing walking distance to eateries and some shopping. It seems like a little oasis away from crowds. The room we were in had a sink in a bathroom as well as another sink/vanity across from the closet area, so convenient for families. Staff in hotel .
all reviews » We appreciated the reasonable rate for the value of the accommodations. The location is good. The restaurant had great food, atmosphere and service. The reservations clerks and front desk people were very friendly and helpful. All the employees we encountered were professional and friendly. The room was spacious, clean, comfortable and well-appointed. It was nice to have free WiFi, although our room was apparently the farthest from the signal. The grounds are beautifully landscaped and well-mai. The staff was friendly, eager to help and very well informed about the area. The Lemon Tree has beautiful landscaping. The courtyard/pool area is charming and the rooms all have balconies facing it. The location is wonderful with easy access to downtown Santa Barbara via State Street and access to HWY101 for longer road trips to wine country. Also, for those who need it there is a very convenient laundry in the shopping center just behind the hotel that has self-service and wash and fold servic. 1. Spacious room (by UK standards). 2. Clean large and comfortable room 3. Balcony and seating 4. Pleasant pool with decent depth enabling a good swim. 5. Restaurant had good choice and food was very pleasant 6. Staff where very welcoming at reception. 7. Chip style entry key easy to use.(better than using a card entry). 8. Easy to use coffee maker (tea bag style)although should be supplied with at least x2 sachets for each occupancy. 9. Good amount of natural light in bathroom area. Luis at the front desk was one of the kindest, most professional gentleman, who instantly made us feel welcome! Luis went out of his way to have our room ready for us by lunchtime, rather than having us wait until the 3p.m. check-in time. I was impressed by how quickly Housekeeing responded to our need for extra towels! We made sure to leave a tip :) It was obvious the swimming pool is cleaned often. We will return this summer and will invite relatives to join us. When we arrived we found what we expected of 3 star place. After all it was to be a fast overnight stay. The art deco restaurant looked expensive to eat at. We looked else were, but came back to a big surprise....The food was great. The service was a little slow, but good. Breakfast was better. We would give the Lemon Tree Inn a 4 star. I will give the answer to the next question #5 a resounding "YES"! I can now see no better place to stay in Santa Barbara. The hotel is beautiful, full of lemon trees and flowers. Very comfortable beds, and a wonderful pool and spa area in the central courtyard, it was a shame that we were only there for 2 days and didn't have time to use the pool. The location of the hotel is fine, although not in the heart of the city, so need to drive or take public transport to get to the action. Wifi worked fine, and parking free. I would definitely go back. This is a great hotel, it has a very modern feel to it. The finishing inside the rooms is very nice, the bed was very comfortable as well. I really liked how there were sliding glass doors which led to a court yard with a nice pool. It was easy to find and well as find your way back to the highway. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Santa Barbara, great value for your money. The Lemon Tree is a beautiful hotel located 5 min from the santa Barbara warf with eay highway access. room was vey nice huge pool with whirpool and palm trees as well as real lemon trees. I would definately rercommend it and retun for another stay. My only disappointment was I thought the on site restaurant was very expensive so we ate elsewhere. Joe Pullia N.F Canada. The staff were all very nice and helpful. The rooms were gorgeous and I loved that all of them were right next to the pool. We were on the first floor so we could walk right out to the pool from the patio that was attached to our room. It made our romantic getaway that much more special to be in surroundings that felt different from other hotels. This is quite easily one of the best hotels I've ever stayed at in its class. In fact, I've stayed at $300 a night hotels that weren't as nice. Staff are unwaveringly friendly and welcoming, facilities are excellent, rooms are scrupulously clean, and the restaurant is frankly superb. I'll be staying here again next time I'm in the area. Check in was so fast!! Our room was upgraded because it was our 28th wedding anniversary and the room was very nice with a nice patio and pool view. The bar was great, friendly and good selection on wine and beer. Great breakfast outdoors by the pool and the staff where wonderful, friendly and very helpful in any request we had!. I liked the pool and garden area, the generous room size, comfortable bed and linens, and outgoing and helpful staff. We were able to arrange an early check in so we could change clothes after our long drive. The hotel is walking distance to Trader Joe's, Ralph's, CVS Pharmacy, and The Coffee Bean, which was great. I wasn't able to check in until almost 9:00pm and the staff was very accomodating. The price made me think that the hotel would be a little sketchy but when we opened the door we were pleasantly surprised at the modern feel. It was nice having a private porch to enjoy breakfast on. The bar had a great atmosphere, the enitre staff was exceptional, the grounds of the hotel is nice, good location, reasonable price for the area, heated saltwater pool, we would stay again with tour kids, although we did not eat here during our stay the food smelled delicious. Loved our patio that joined to the pool area in the central courtyard. Double doors opened completely to the outside. Pool and hot tub were nice. Loved the little lemons on which the room numbers were printed. Room itself was very clean and comfy with attention to design. We had a lovely time at The Lemon Tree which has great value for money if you're splitting the bill with another friend. The facility is beautiful & the people friendly. But, if you go to the Lemon Tree, keep your voices down as you come & go from the room!. I prefer motels to hotels and this one was a little more modern than our usual in Santa Barbara (The Sandman, which we love but decided to try something different). Old-style motel structure but with a very nice restaurant-lounge on the premises and very nice tropical plantings around the pool. Helped us set up our Apple tv unit with their internet. Lovely renovated rooms. Done to a high standard and the king bed was super comfortable!! Great bedding and tv. Room opened up onto the jacuzzi and pool area which was very nice. Room was quiet and had a great night sleep. Great location only 5min into town!. Though an older motel this place has been kept in wonderful condition by making some minor to major updates. Probably one of the cleanest rooms and exteriors of many "upscale" facilities! The dining facility was superb also! We will surely stay there again!. The interior is great and I'd you are lucky to have a room at the second floor you can have a great look at the pool and the garden. Clean everywhere and with a very good restaurant aside. Had 2 queen beds both with different feeling mattress; I liked one more than the other and my husband liked the opposite one. The courtyard was incredibly lush with palms, bird-of-paradise, and other foliage. The Crocodile restaurant is good, though quite loud in the evening and fairly expensive. The staff of the motel was extremely friendly and courteous. The setting was beautiful with sweet smells of lemon blossoms. Everything was first class. The room was fresh, updated, cozy,roomy and relaxing. The location was perfect to enjoy State St and the mission and beach art n craft shows. There was a lovely environment in the hotel. I loved the clean and well-appointed room. I loved the beautiful tropical-like courtyard. I loved the location...on the main street but not right in the busy center...not far from freeway. The landscaping was really beautiful. I liked that there was a door to the pool area with a small patio to sit and relax. The location was convenient to neighborhood stores and restaurants. location is good, not too far from downtown yet away from congestion. Bed was very comfy and the landscaping was lovely. Very clean too. We'll come here again if we get another good rate. It was clean and economical with a nice size shower. . We used the Jacuzzi and the pool...all in very good shape. The receptionist was expecially helpful when trying to find plsaces to go for nightlife. Really liked how the pool was in the center of the inn close to any room you happen to stay in and the beach was only 3 miles away,we took our bikes and it was a great ride to and from!. The room itself was adaquate but nothing special--think 'Holiday Inn'-- with the exception of a really large balcony overlooking courtyard, which we enjoyed. The bathroom had stained tub and grout, and cracked plaster. Seemed reasonably clean though when I wiped up a water spill from a black tray holding the coffee pot, the cloth was grimy. It's too bad there can't be ice machines on every floor. Evidently, vandalism has been a problem on the facility. The WiFi signal in our room was weak. External doors to rooms where cheap looking what you would expect in a cheap Motel. This gives a poor first impression. n/a. The location, in town, is a little hard to find, but manageable. The keys, instead of cards, were hard to contain, in fact, I lost mine out of my pocket. They should have rings on them for attaching to ones on keys. There was no breakfast included. And no refrigerator to store food. No fridge. I would have liked to have some sort of key to the patio door. We didn't have a way to lock it while we went to the pool. Nothing... Nothing!! All was great!. The noise level is rather high, as it's older construction and not soundproof. Also the bathroom was in need of some cosmetic repairs -- ancient, marred mirror and sink, although I liked the retro vibe of the shower tile, and it was all clean. For the price you have to pay to stay in Santa Barbara, I'd have expected better towels. The bed is a little firm and some of the fixtures were broken. We heard our neighbors through the wall very early in morning. A group of 4 gentlemen made the room next door their "drop-off" and "pick-up" spot for the group so, at midnight and 7 am, various loud, chatty voices and lots of laughter kept us awake. The walls are so thin that we could have participated in the conversation. Nothing really. Being vegan I guess the only thing would be that the restaurant served vegan food but we're used to that... :). Walls between rooms extremely thin walls between rooms. We could hear normal conversational voices from next door loud and clear. A party of young women arriving at bar-closing time disrupted our sleep for over an hour. One plumbing problem was met with very quick response. Nothing. Being handicapped I probably should have asked for an ada room, but did not. That said, the elevator and ice machines were located far from our room. Nothing to complain about he hotel. Just want to advise that you have to take a car or can to go downtown and the beach but it takes jut less than 10'. We could not get into our room until close to 5:00 because the previous tenants did not vacate until later in the afternoon. Not the motel's fault, but a free beer would have been a nice gesture!. No liners for the ice bucket, I think this may be illegal for sanitary reasons. Also, no Kleenex tissues in the rooms and they do not have decaf coffee for their coffee makers. So bring your own if you wish to use any of these items. On the second day, the boiler was down in the morning, and we were without hot water. However, the problem was fixed by noon. The bed was a little too firm, for our liking. No fridge in the room. The hotel was a little bit outside of Santa Barbara but it was not a difficult trip by car or bus with a stop was close by. There was little that we have to complain about. The room was functional and can do with a little more flavor. Nothing. Great hotel!. Two very small things - With a note in the room for the maid I asked for but did not get decaf coffee and a box of tissues. Noise from other rooms. Very poor sound insulation between rooms. Did not spoil our stay. There wasn't a fitness center. I didn't like having to leave after one night. The bathroom tile was a little rough around the edges and moldy. The towels mighty thin, but serviceable. Little soundproofing between the bathroom and sleeping area. No refrigerator in room for wife's meds. ATT phone reception very poor. Road repaving in our parking area and access street. No fridge in room 10 mins drive from ocean. N/A. Nothing. Everything was perfect. The online web site mixed up our reservation, so they upgraded us and gave us a $10.00 discount. No gym or workout facility. I wish they had a mini-fridge in the room. They had no Kleenex...had to use toilet paper. I guess I expected more for the price. It was nice just not "that" nice. no microwave or refrigerator in room. A bit pricey but I think all of SB are overpriced. Being a senior citizen, I would have like to have had a taller toilet with an elongated bowl. . I can't say there was anything we didn't like overall a great stay!.
