The staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. The room was extremely nice, with a really comfortable bed, and it was by far the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in. The location was unbeatable - right in the heart of the Old Town, minutes away from the Matanzas River, the Castillo de San Marcos, and all the best sights in St. Augustine. Location, location, location! Right in the heart of St. Augustine. All staff were very helpful and informed, especially the innkeeper. Loved the balcony where we spent each evening watching people pass by below. We have already recommended you to others who are thinking about a family reunion in St. A.
all reviews » Location of the property. Everything in walking distance.Plenty of choices of where to eat and drink. View of the Bay, City Gates, and Fort from the balcony. Rocking chairs on the balcony. Cleaniness of the rooms. Courtyard right downstairs. Trollies available for transporation and tour info. The Inn is one of our favorite places to stay anywhere! The look of the Inn is so historically correct and is one of the cleanest places I've ever stayed. We enjoy the terrific customer service we received as well. Just love it there. The room was large and nicely decorated. The staff was friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable about the area. The location is at the beginning of the pedestrian area which is convenient to many stores, restaurants, and other attractions. Excellent location in the heart of the historic area. You can walk to everything from here. The hotel fits right in with the historic buildings and the wraparound balconies provide excellent views of the entire area. The hotel location is perfect. We parked our car and walked everywhere. The continental breakfast that they provide was very good. We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to our friends and family. Such a charming quaint place to stay. Loved how close it was to all the sightseeing and places to eat. My only complaint was the parking garage being so far away from the actual inn, which was a little bit difficult to get to and from during some particularly nasty storms. However, the staff provided us with extra check-out time to allow for the storm to clear and large golf umbrellas for the walk over. Although it was not a problem for us, travelers should be aware that some units are accessible only by stairs. There was nothing we didn't like. The parking situation is a bit difficult when you are trying to get registered; however, the Inn has provided a space in the road for you to unload your car and they assist you right away with carrying your bags in so that you can get out of the road quickly. This was our 1st visit to St. Augustine and there was nothing that we didn't like. The WiFi was slowwwww. The only thing Not to like would be the available counter space in the bathroom, but I made it work!. Breakfast was pretty lame. We really liked everything about St George Inn. We didn't stay long enough!!. Would be nice to have some gluten free options for breakfast. the floors were a bit dirty when you walked on them barefoot, the bedclothes (spreads and such) had a bit of a smell once pulled down. also could you a little more water pressure. Nothing. I thought breakfast was a little disappointing, I prefer individual packets of spreads and jams and would have liked some fruit or cereal x. Nothing. Several times during the night, people would walk up the wooden steps (our room was at the top) out of curiosity to see where it went and they were quite noisy & laughing,etc. no crunchy peanut butter, more fresh fruit would have been nice. The directions To get To the Inn were not clear . Not having a TV guide and the continental breakfast was okay. We've had better selections of food and also more comfortable seating. It also would have been nice for the Inn to have complimented our 54th Anniversary on Thursday with some little extra thought!!. The walls weren't very soundproof so you could hear everything that was happening in the next room or outside. The outside light could not be turned off and despite having blinds on the door, the light shone in the room. During my stay it was storming the entire time and one of the shutters on the window was broken causing it to repeatedly slam against the window frame. Very loud and annoying. Nothing. Glass window in room entrance with only a blind, lacks for privacy and security. Wash basin in sleeping area is inconvenient to partner, when one occupant rises prior to the other. (A dimmer light could resolve this issue). No Lift. WiFi very slow. Breakfast was very sparse.There was no eggs, bacon, cereal or milk! The only fruit available was an orange. Although it is a nice hotel it is a misrepresentation to call this a B & B or list it as a B & B. Nothing. everything was good. was confused about where to leave car when checking in...but staff was quick to offer to move for me....and parking garage (free) was very convenient.... I don't think there was anything I didn't like. Was a little expensive. No real issues.
