I Liked that the Hotel was directly across from the City Pier and beach. There were Restaurants, Bar & Grills and other eateries in walking distance. Also close to regular shopping plazas for general shopping needs. THe staff was friendly and accommodating to our needs. They even offer complementary ironing boards and iron if needed. Best of all was the indoor heated pool for when the weather was too cold to swim in the Ocean. Best bang for the buck...We will be saying there the next time w.
all reviews » The clerk (I think her name was Rachel - on duty 3/4 and 3/5 evenings). I had made reservations a couple of months in advance and had forgotten where. A group of us stopped the night before my reservation, and the other ladies wanted to stay at the same place I was staying. We checked several motels in that area. None were as kind as Rachel! She not only booked my friends, but found me in the reservation list. &Quot;I once was lost, but now I'm found"...by Rachel!! I also liked having an el. The accommodation was of a good standard. The bed was comfortable. The room was well equipped and well prepared by housekeeping. The location was a bit further than I had expected from the town centre but that was my fault. I should have checked but it wasn't really an issue as I had a car. It might have been inconvenient without. It has all the facilities like a microwave and a fridge. The pool is lovely just like bath water. The staff were friendly and helpful. It is conveniently location across from the beach and close to some really good bars/diners where the locals are super friendly. All in all a good place to stay. The lady at the desk was wonderful, and gave us a fabulous dinner recommendation. It is right across the street from a nice beach. My only wish was that they would upgrade the linens to the sheet/ blanket style, instead of bedspreads. Very clean and nice. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!!. We arrived early and the young lady at the desk gave us our room ASAP. She was very helpful with directions and she recommended great restaurants. It was the perfect location for the beach and a short ride into historic St. Augustine. I would definitely stay here again. This motel is a great value . The rooms are always clean and there is a heated indoor pool so just in case it is raining there is something for the kids to do.Also there is a free breakfast every morning.Awesome public beach is right across the street. The room was spacious and clean. It was just a short walk to the beach. We were there on a Wed. when the open air market was going on so we got to shop for fresh produce on our way back from the beach. Nice break from a big city. Nice large , comfortable clean room.Area was under construction, but still easy to get to. Close to restaurants, amplitheater, historical area, great price. Would return. Had refrigerator and microwave in room. I really liked the location, very close to the beach (only a short walk). I also liked that it was in walking distance of a local bar/restaurant and not a far drive to the old town. The lady that checked us in was pleasant and professional, the room was clean and spacious. It was convenient to the beach and an easy ride to the Old City. I was staying by myself and felt safe, even with the outside entry. Perhaps sweet foods should be at least equally provided with more health conscious items. Some aspects of the exterior like the roof need maintenance but I could not fault the interior. The wifi and cell reception didn't work at all in our room. Everything was perfect. Didn't have a hot breakfast. Just cereal, breads and sweets. Im very picky with comforters and the one on our bed was a bit out dated, it would have been nice to have a more comfortable bed but it wasn't bad. At times, the wi-fi connection was weak. Although the towels were adequate, I prefer larger bath towels. There was not a sidewalk to A1A. Not bad just prefered a short sidewalk to walking in the Drive. Nothing .........not to like. Would recommend more verity on the breakfast bar. I'm sorry we couldn't spend more time in St. Augustine. It's a delightful place. for some reason i was never able to park my vehicle even close to my room, not sure the deal on that but it was bothersome. Directions to find hotel were not accurate on a1a. The only negative thing was that the TV reception was sketchy at best. We couldn't check weather channel or catch football scores. none noted. The breakfast is only cereal coffee and juice. And the internet connection was not very good. And my husband had to ask the housekeepers 3 out of the 5 days we were there to take out our trash and give us clean towels. Breakfast included but you'll probably want to get breakfast elsewhere. I did not like the fact that there was no chair in the room. When you are in your '60's and 70's it's very hard to have to sit on the bed for two days. Same breakfast each morning. Room was not cleaned on a timely basis, even with leaving the "please clean asap" tag on the door. Made it difficult to coordinate naps for our 2 year old granddaughter. A bit of mildew smell and one bug but, hey, it's Florida. Hotel is very basic. Construction to the street and building next to the hotel is going on right now so its not a very pretty site. You also can not see the beach from the hotel. Partial section of the bathroom doesn't have a light so it is very dim light and hard to see when you are showering and using the toilet. 3 of the bedroom area lights was not working. Very dim light in this room too. Not a lot of parking spots available. The fire alarm went off twice during the night. I was told that people smoking in other rooms, caused the alarms to go off. beds not of good quality, flat small pillows, only two pillows per bed. The beds were a little hard but we spent most of our time out and about, i can overlook it. Mattresses were very firm. Breakfast is carb heavy. The towels were skimpy and harsh. The wash cloths likewise,. n/a everything was perfect. Beds were hard. Continental Breakfast could have offered more. bathroom was not very clean and appliances were old and dirty. Hard to find .... call for directions ..gps sent to wrong location... Maybe more ashtrays outside would be good. bed was a little hard for me (but i normally sleep on a water bed). It was hidden off the main road just a little bit and I was kind of hard to find. The distance to the ice machine.
