Hotel room rates were fantastic, rooms were spacious. Blackjack table games were the best I have ever played, single deck was what I really liked. I prefer to tip each individual dealer rather than have them pool their money, so I can reward them according to their personality and skills. I enjoyed playing deuces wild on the machines. I liked the way the point system can be used for food. The food was very good. We shall return again a lot. I would recommend Boomtown to my friends.
all reviews » We stayed at this hotel purely because the male's in our family wanted to visit Cabelas. It was ideal for this. The rooms were clean and comfortable and we enjoyed a goods night sleep. The hot chocolate from the coffee shop comes highly recommend. My main problem was I gave you my American Express company card and you were supposed to charge that. But you charged my employee who had to show his card to be able to stay there now I have to undo the mess. The location right off the highway and being able to avoid downtown Reno, nv as we were just passing through. The Fun Zone might have been a good time for kids but we just didn't have time to check it out. I liked the whole experience...mde reservations online thinking I mde them for LA actually I mde them for Nevada bt tha staff in LA was able to accomodate me and I really appreciate that. The room itself was most comfortable with lovely touches, such as art on the walls, beautifully appointed bathroom and quiet. Extra touches were appreciated. I has little to no interaction w/ the staff. The room was clean. The casino was clean. I only ate and slept at the hotel. Most of the day, I was away. Fun Center for family...it was a delight for the youngsters! Peets Coffee. The staff was very friendly at the sports bar and the Lobster Buffet. Staff for the hotel and casino were friendly and knowledgeable. It was a great value for the rates--nice rooms and bathrooms. No smoking rooms available. Very comfortable bed. Restaurant prices were a little high' No buffet service during the week. The hotel could not find our booking, not sure if this was the fault of the hotel or letsbookhotel.com anyway we had originally booked two non smoking rooms but the hotel were only able to offer us one non smoking and one smoking room. We looked at the second room but felt it was too smelly and smokey to sleep in so we all stayed in one room. The hotel did give us money off for the inconvenience, which was good. My only real issue was my American Express company card was used to reserve and pay for the room. However my employee had to show his debit card to be able to stay there in the end you charged him not me. Now I get to fix that I hope it's easy. I thought when I saw it on the internet that it said it had a pool. We never saw a pool. In fact we weren't informed about anything within the hotel at all. No paperwork, maps, information given at check-in or available in the room. Staff was not friendly. Having to pass through smoke filled casino. The only complaint was that no face towels were available on one of my days at the hotel. Pool wasn't operating. Hallways carpet needs attention. Carpet in my room also needs fixing. The slots were tight. The room I was in seemed outdated, older, did not feel clean, even though I am sure it was, but seemed to have paint cracking at the bottom of the bathroom door (room 3167), bathroom tiles were in bathroom just did not seem clean, tv was an older crt style tv instead of a flat screen. Overall, was an ok stay at the casino, but was not impressed. Smell of smoke everywhere and the breakfast in the Bistro was not good--service was good, but food very average or less. Old tv. Bathtub drain was backed up. The floors were dirty and wall paper is coming loose. Breakfast food was barely warm, but tasty. Room registration was not near the rooms so you had to walk through the casino, with bags, to get to the room area. Very irritating. The link from letsbookhotel.com to the hotel did not work well - they did not have my reservation, but they handled it well. so happy with hotel not sure about why letsbookhotel.com feed to hotel did not work. - thought you would want to know. Not enough help at the Pete's Coffee outlet in the AM when people want coffee. A long wait. view of AC on roof and long walk. Limited options other than gaming. the shower head was absolutely horrible. more water came out of the bath tub spout than the shower head. the bathroom was tiny as well. also the tv was probably 20 years old. 1. nonsmoking room was requested - smoking room with ash trays and strong smell recd. 2. Luggage transport was a problem - the only luggage carts were rationed by valet staff and not available when valet was closed. 3. Room location and property were not handicap friendly - room at opposite end of hallway from the elevators. 4. Smoke from forest fire made the air outside like the air in the room. Meal choices in Boomtown are limited. Rooms in South Tower are a little outdated. The hotel is very very dated, not dirty but old. Room had holes in the wall from a TV that was obviously replaced with an old huge non hd boat anchor of a TV. Still really smoky, but it's a casino. Bathroom had mold in the tile but the towels and toilet were clean. Paid 39.99, got 39.99 worth of hotel. Served our purpose.... Our room location was by the empty pool. Dark and dreary. I needed to check out early because best friend had a stroke but they could not give any credit for my early departure(I checked out at 6:30pm and they declared to to letsbookhotel.com that we left at 2:30am the following day. Not staffed sufficiently. Billing of extra $50. Parking too far from hotel entrance. Insufficient signage for North/south hotel entrances. They charge us two times we had to go back and get Reverse....I Booked over 6 months ago three rooms and they didn't have my Reservation So I end up with one room when I was needing three.. That was not cool they did nothing to make it better very Disappointed.... The Restaurant has Changed ownership and was very Expensive for average family.... The showers heads didn't spray and the water was barely warm. We have stayed at Boomtown many times but always in the North Tower. This stay the room in the South Tower was not clean or comfortable, very disappointing. Buffet was closed ate at bistro 2100 waaaay over priced. I booked a king bed room with a mountain view and got a two queen bed with a view of the old indoor pool that was closed down. No mountain view. The room certainly needed a fresh paint job, paint was peeling from the bathroom door. They advertised a pool which was all the way down in a trailer park off site that you either had to walk to or take a shuttle to and share with the trailer park people. The shower was plugged with calcium -worst one that we have used price jumped to almost double on the week-end - charged a resort fee which we were told we wouldn't have. food selection was small.and rooms were small. Not very friendly service. Need better entrance to hotel. Had to walk through smoke filled casino. Even though renovated...still felt old & dirty. Room was very tired and tv needs upgrade. i asked for no smoking room and my room smells like smoke. I did not like the fact that booking dot com booked me on thursday night 3/28 and I had asked for friday night 3/29! It turned into a very expensive room that was a dump!. Our room was suppose to be a non-smoking but when you entered the hallways it reeked of smoke. The beds were uncomfortable and the coffee pot still had the an old filter in it. Air conditioner was very load and wasn't very cold. Hotel was dirty and had bad smells, staff had no caring, vending/ice machines were broken, and would probably never go back or suggest to a friend or family member! My over all rating for this whole trip would be a 4 out of 10. Bathtub wouldn't drain. Coffee and condiments were not replenished during stay. TV remotes didn't work. had to unplug to turn it off. Everything else. Unclean, rude staff (Carla at front desk), expensive food, north tower too far from front desk/valet. 42" tv in room with no HD channels. Most video games in fun center out of order. The manager calling us truckers. We asked for non-smoking they gave us smoking. The lady at the counter said the deposit would be back on my card the next morning. When I checked out I asked the other lady if it was put back on and she said it would be a week. She was also very rude when we checked out. Karin was a horrible staff member and was so old she really didn't know how to do her job. This place all around was bad and I wouldn't stay there again.
