Very friendly! Loved hearing the Native American Flute Player in the lobby when we arrived. Loved the art in the lodge. Staff were very helpful in keeping our electronic items safe when we took the helicopter down to the Havasupai Canyon floor. The spa was wonderful when we returned with aching muscles and blistered feet. The guests were very friendly and became comrades on the journey into and out of the canyon! Would definitely stay again. We didn't even mind the train :).
all reviews » Excellent value for money. Far more luxurious than I expected, in fact on par with the Best Western Chain but more facilities and less expensive. Whilst my daughter and I were there we were delighted to be entertained by top class Native American Singers, Flutist and Dancer as well as having the opportunity to sign up for a 'make your own Dream Catcher Class' Unfortunately we were only able to stay for one night. I would thoroughly recommend this Hotel. We stayed at the lodge before we head out on our backpacking trip in Supai, AR. The staff was nice as was the hotel in general. When we got back from our trip we stayed another night here and ate at the attached restaurant. The Hualapai taco was soooooo good! Open faced on homemade fry bread, amazing! The train does come by often but if you request a room on the road side on the hotel not the track side it's not too bad. Slept right through it. It's in the middle of one of the few remaining stretches of the orginal Route 66. The Hualapai entertainment was amazing and the friendliness and helpfulness of everyone was welcome when we had a problem. The room was spacious and clean, and although normally there is nothing at Peach Springs, as we were leaving hundreds of classic cars arrived for the Classic Car Fun Run BBQ! It was amazing - such a great atmosphere. We had traveled from Kansas City to Los Angeles, staying in a variety of motels along the way. The Hualapai Lodge was by far our favorite, ranking even above the Westin Airport in Los Angeles and the Great Wolf Lodge in Kansas City. It was spotlessly clean and had a wonderful, calming ambience. The staff were friendly and unstintingly helpful, even offering to open the spa after hours or call EMT's if we needed them. I booked this location for the convenience relative to our River Runners excursion which picked us up there. I didn't know what to expect and only hoped for a comfortable bed and a clean bathroom. I got that and more as it was a well-appointed room for the price and exceeded expectations. I have recommended it to friends and would stay there again if repeating the Grand Canyon white-water rafting trip!. We requested a room opposite of the railroad tracks and they honored our request. Also, we were a late check in and they gave us a room closest to the door which was nice so we didn't have to carry our things very far after a long day of travel. Very comfortable rooms and friendly staff. Breakfast was good. We found the hotels on Indian reservations, operated and owned by the tribe, superior to the other hotels we stayed at in the Southwest. Price was higher, but worth the comfort. t The early bird breakfast was amazing, quick and great bang for your buck.... it's a sack lunch with a breakfast sandwich, fresh fruit, yogurt, and juice. they get it ready for you so you can hit the road to Havasupai early!. Location was great as a jumping off place for our hike into Havasu Canyon the next day. Food and food service was very good, rooms were nice and comfortable. Front desk clerk was exceptional. Found a room for us tho our room had not been cleaned as we were early on arrival. Very knowledgable about the area. Location perfect for the Grand Canyon. The rooms are very comfortable and plenty of space. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Staff was great! Front desk, maid service, and restaurant staff all very friendly and accomodating. Very clean and comfortable. Everyone that we meet that works for the lodge were very good to us. The cook and wait staff were the best. Awesome buttermilk pancakes. Enjoyed the local music presentation in the lobby. Clean and very friendly. Room was was clean, pool area spotless. The restaurant was a surprise, being above what I expected. Restaurant was very good. Stayed on the north side so the train noise didn't impact our sleep. It was a good experience overall, room, staff, food, location for what we were looking for. Rafting trip commenced from the lodge so you can sleep in. Best included breakfast ever. The lobby area is very welcoming and our room was beautifully furnished. We loved the comfortable beds and the delicious food in the restaurant!. I liked the decor in the lobby and convenience of catching the river raft trip right at the hotel. Also the breakfast/restaurant right at the hotel. It was clean room and the location was great for our stopover before our trek down the Grand Canyon. The spa was rally nice, nice room setup and good value for the breakfast. Free Wifi and free hbo. Staff was very kind and prepared breakfast sandwiches for our early departure. Actually a very nice hotel, spacefull and clean rooms. Stayed due to rafting trip Size of room. The meals are good, locations perfect. clean, comfortable, roomy. Everything was wonderful. I didn't mind it because I had been warned, but the noise from the trains during the night could have come as a surprise to some people. I didn't see the notice offering free earplugs until the morning and as it's very close to the main east-west freight line - BNSF Railroad - it's not going to get any better. I don't consider this a negative but the Hualapai Lodge is isolated, located on an Indian Reservation halfway between Kingman and Flagstaff (az). If you want city life and shopping, go elsewhere. But if you want peace and quiet (with the exception of the occasional train going through nearby), this is wonderful. Nothing. I pool area was not clean nor appealing. The food offered in the restaurant is limited but good. N/A. No advance warning of the freight train running every 15 minutes for 20 hours a day. But honestly it was not a disturbance to our sleep. Nothing. Everything was good. The rather disorganised canteen atmosphere of the dining room/restaurant. They managed to run out of milk at breakfast time on the day we were there. The train passing by:). Restaurant a bit basic. Staff, Receptionists should be friendlier. Next to train tracks with freight trains every 15 minutes. Hotel provides ear plugs. Train noise which was remedied with complimentary ear plugs for sleeping.. Charging for children that were older then 9 a fee of 27.00 so to drive down the road it costs a family of 4 107.00, plus gas of approximate 50.00 for the run. the breakfast in the morning needs more of A choice for the continental breakfast. room was dark Fairly isolated. Loud train eevery half hour. Very depressed area. reservation was 20 higher when i got to the hotel. hmmmmm. A bit outdated. Carpeting has stains. The train noise. Pool was advertised as heated but closed due to winter. So no pool use although the hot tub was open. Nothing. Not the ideal place to stay if you are going to Skywalk, a long drive to get there. Lots of train whistling. Nothing loved it. Room 125 noisily with water sounds. from other rooms. Also, the room directly above h ad loud thumping noise most of the night and sounds of moving furniture. Hot tub not working. Could of used after our hike back the canyon. All disappointed. It worked on Friday. Then Sunday not. Train too loud & close. Why do they run so many times in one hour.?. I didn't care for the pool area due to it was enclosed and blocked the beautiful mountains..kept the pool area extremely hot... No breeze. The freight trains kept us up ALL night. Depending in what side of the hotel you stay in you will be woken up with trains blaring their horns every 20 minutes and rumbling through as if they were in your room. We didn't get a wink of sleep which was extremely frustrating since we were setting out for a 10 mile hike the next day. Our whole other crew said they barely heard the train but were all on the other side of the hotel. We stayed in room 124 so stay on the opposite side as that. Even if you make a phone call that says it is local, they charge you long distance for it. There is also no cell service for miles either direction. There is a train track right across the street. They do not hold off the horn, even in the middle of the night. The location to the train is horrible. We were both awake all night and would've appreciated a heads up so we could move our room. Unfortunately we arrived at 10pm, the reception was already closed and the bar too. The receptionist who gave us the room, wasn't able to provide us a bottle of water and the automatic dispenser was broken and didn't contain water anyway. So we stayed without water all night, exept from that comin' from sink. Bring it your water if you plan to arrive after 9 pm!. Noise from train but ear plugs are offered at reception. Miserable receptionist/concierge more interested in stuffing her face full of Doritos. No one smiles, You get the feeling they don't want you there, as if they are being forced to work there. loud train at night keeps you up. There is nothing else besides the hotel in town. No restaurants, no shops, no nothing (no alcohol!) The train is laud and goes by very often, so it could be a problem if you don't sleep easily. But it wasn'T for me and I would repeat:).
