I loved my room 1622! The view was spectacular, proximity to the beach was incredible! The value was outstanding! It's a hidden gem where for a motel price you get a luxury resort view. The staff was really friendly and they accommodated everything I requested! I've had an amazing experience, I'd like to stay in room 1620 next time. The Ocean Inn is associated with the newRoyal Lihinha Hotel. It is very old but you get to use the new and much more expensive ammenitites at the Royal part of the complex. Beautiful area of Maui....fabulous beach. Budget people will like it.
all reviews » Fantastic location for walking the beach and snorkeling. Great restaurant called the Castaway next door and the hotel restaurant was good too. Everything, good value for the money. Only 3 miles from Lahaina, good beach and pools, access to beach walkways north and south, spacious room. the easy acces to the beach, the comfort and mostly the staff, the service , the location, the beach....well, I guess everything. Great price for the location, large rooms, nice beach side swimming pools! Walking distance to everything. Nice staff. Amazing location right on the beach. We got a room upgrade and got to stay in one of the cottages for the same price. Everything is always great when I stay there never a problem aloha spirt all the time aloha Mr Noury Tony. The room was pretty clean and nicely appointed. We liked that you could near the ocean from the Lanai. The location, beach walk, pools and the beach. The staff were very friendly on the most part. The hotel is on the same ground as the Royal Lahina. It is a few yards from the beach. the veiw of the Ocean & Whales during breakfast in the restaurant. Great ocean view at a reasonable price. Friendliness of the hotel staff. The room was a good size however we would have preferred to be directly on the oceanfront and not in a side room. The room was good value for money however. The location of this hotel is right on the beach, however is a distance from the shops and other restaurants. There is a trolley that leaves every 30mins which is great. Location is on the beach and the royal Hawaiian resort has a great property. Their location. View. Nothing! The Kaanapali Ocean Inn is a total dive! I wouldn't recommend it to anybody! After being upgraded to the main tower of the Royal Lahaina the stay was very pleasant. Of course it cost us more money that we weren't planning in spending on lodging!. Nothing...it was a dump. An expensive dump. I changed the reservation from a place I had stayed before to this place, even paying a significantly higher price than the cancelled reservation because it was closer to my timeshare...what a mistake. Location Free hbo Balcony Ocean View. Nothing at all!. Queen bed was more like twin size and a bit uncomfortable. No blow dryer in the bathroom. No ice machine on building premises. Paying to park. Some of the guests were too noisy. The walls were a little thin. Lanai light didn't work. nothing. The inn is being refurbished & my room smelled of paint a few days. The shower area needed to be updated and cleaned thoroughly. The grout was very dirty. The room needed major remodeling. There was mold in the shower the carpet in the room was yucky and the carpets in the hall were old dirty and need replacing. There were no ice machines in the building, we had to go over to the main Royal Lahina building for ice. Original reservations advised that handicap options necessary. At check-in needed to upgrade to accomodate my husband who could not climb stairs. This was an added expense that was not anticipated. Fees were not waived by hotel. We stayed in room 1616 and there was a continuous noise at night (may have been a generator or the hotels air conditioning unit) which seemed to be above our beds. Didn't like to go up and down the 2 flights of stairs and would recommend an elevator be installed. Our room. It was old and in need of some major TLC. The bathroom was a closet-sized claustrophobic cell whose door didn't close all the way. The noisy exhaust fan ran constantly. The staff that check me in were very unhelpful with directions to the Inn and the desk s person was demeaning. I said I had a bad experience finding the checkin and did not have the patience to get a bad room. She stated you're in the budget Inn, so there is not much I can do. Inn run down, needs updating and repair. Roof leaked during rain. The staff were very unhelpful when they (grossly) overcharged my debit card, and did not offer any explanation or remedy for the situation. We asked to have some cutlery and a toaster delivered to our room but the staff advised the electrical current was too low for a toaster to operate (there was a fridge, TV and hair drier working fine?!) and the cutlery wasn't delivered till the following night. you could feel the springs in the bed The room smelled moldy there was mold in the room wallpaper was coming off the wall I believe they were remodeling the floor below, however I don't believe the room we stayed in did the resort justice. It was a very poorly kept room, in an otherwise clean and friendly resort. They tried to put us in a substandard room and I had to pay quite a bit extra to get a clean room (an extra $65/Night. Extremely Hard to find, very old and out of date no elevator we were on second floor difficult to Carry luggage up. The room was in an old building in the corner if the property. The room was old and smelled really moldy. We knew we would end up sick if we stayed there. We were forced to upgrade our room in order to be moved at our expense. Of course an upgrade moved us up to the main tower of the hotel. We should have known better than to book through letsbookhotel.com. It was a total representation!. The place was filthy...the air conditioning did not work and the cold air return was enveloped in black mold. My son was eaten alive by bed bugs (I have pictures), Me not a bad but many bites to both of us,so much so that we could not sleep. The bathroom was peeling and the drywall was broken loose on the wall and the shower area was filthy dirty....i will never go back there again. There as so many bigger and nicer accommodations available for much less than this dump charged. Walls were dirty; mold, exposed electrical wire & peeling paint in bathroom, room smelled, bed linens old, safe use charge, no ice machine on site- on 3rd floor of adjoining hotel, no elevator, parking $15 @ day, front desk said no other rooms available. The toe-nail clippings left on the bathroom counter, the hairs and the sand left in the shower. Two light bulbs were burned out in our room. The front desk person tried to charge me twice for the room.
