Clean, comfortable room in convenient location with free parking, free Wi-Fi, free local calls, all at the best price in town! The $7 weekend breakfast buffet was excellent! Thank-you!. Clean, comfortable quarters, very reasonably priced, convenient, great covered parking, worked very well for my needs. Well Done!. it was a great location for the Gannon graduation. The price was affordable and the staff was very friendly and helpful.

The staff was very nice. the rooms were very clean and comfortable we enjoyed it very much. i stayed overnight because i had an early doctor's appt. Economical. Parking facilities. Seemed clean enough. Would have liked a flat screen tv and more amenities in the room. The young man on night duty was good enough to give us more coffee and bigger styrofoam cups. Hotel's lobby needs brightness.To dark.whoops that is what I didn't care for. I liked location and size of room. The carpet was clean. Proximity to Gannon Univ, Presque State Park. Rooms clean, bedspread white and spotless, price was right. Location and easy access to everything we did. It was adequate and close to our destination. Close to convention center and downtown erie. the convenient location. Location. I'm not sure who's error this reservation loss was the hotel's or letsbookhotel.com I had better not get charged by letsbookhotel.com for the original reservation. Cathryn. Nothing. The room was supposed to be non-smoking and reeked of smoke. The rooms are old and out of date and were filthy. Bathroom ceiling appeared to have black mold. breakfast was good, fridge and microwave in the room, plenty of storage space. Nothing in particular. Nothing. Received call from front desk apologizing for slowness in delivering requested extra towels; however, I had not called about towels. Upon receiving this call, I decided to order 2 extra towels, but they were never delivered. Also, didn't like the fact that we weren't informed in advance that the weekend buffet could only be paid for in cash. Please renew the coffee station on a daily basis - thanks. The only issue I had was not enough towels, and it was IMMEDIATELY dealt with. I thought the room would be nicer based on the pictures I saw on the website. we didn't have enough cups and had to leave our room and go to the desk to get them. Overpriced for a room with no micro wave and no refrig. Not even a picture on the wall or a place to put our suitcase. The web site did not mention the restaurant and lounge was closed. I surely would not have stayed there if I had known that. On Sunday, since I had given up my rental car, the only place close enough to walk to to grab a bite to eat was Subway, about 2 blocks away. Didn't care too much for the neighborhood panhandlers. Refrig in rôom didn't work. Tub grim my. Neighborhood is decaying, very noisy at night, police cars, people hanging on streets, cars racing, no restaurants nearby. My room was next to elevator, a little noisy. Hotel needs an overall facelift/update,. Both my husband and I were hurting in the morning. The beds were terrible. Even one of our children complained because she didn't like the bed. Room was not very clean. There was a great deal of noise at night. Coffee was completely inadequate. The wifi does not work. the room seemed "touched".. pillow weren't put nicely.. odd impression.. but at the end it was clean enough. I've stayed at the Avalon several times. It's getting increasingly dowdy and dated. The towels are too small; there was no pen and pad in the room; no C of C materials on Erie; the staff was bored; food amenities were minimal, etc., etc. they did not have our reservation and were fully booked, they did finally give us one of their safety rooms. but charged us full rate. we were originally booked for 2 nights at a better price. we had to find another hotel for the sunday night. I have receipts for both hotels. Dirty Out of date Moldy ceiling in bathroom. shower curtain - old and dirty, blankets - old, badly worn rooms - NO HEAT, freezing all night!!! elevators - slow, dirty, particularly parking garage lobby. not sound proof what so ever, heard every word/noise in the hall and next door. need a luggage stand in the room. safe box was locked, could not be used... Location - downtown Erie is a mess. There is nowhere to go to eat proper food. Feels like crime rate is very high. Very noisy hotel due to poor windows. We could hear a train approaching at about 5 AM. Key-cards failed to work all the time. Had to go back and re-swipe them with the reception. Public who stayed in the hotel were shady. Very poor breakfast, especially if you come late. It's absolutely not worth the money. The towels were dirty, there were smudge marks on my sheets. No wifi password provided and no channel guide. Very poor customer service. Everything. Air conditioning did not work. Bed mattress wasn't fit for a dog, old thin and totally worn out. Waited 3 hrs and 4 phone calls to front desk for a fan and decent pillows which were stained! Mold around the tub. Totally wasted money on this hotel. Would never stay there again. I have already written the hotel. Should be refunded my money.
