Staff was excellent. We were only there one night but had a lot of questions - staff was professional and helpful. Amazed - it seemed that when I was coming and going, if an employee was within 10 feet of the door, they would stop what they were doing and hold the door for us. Room comfortable and clean! All staff I encountered were friendly and efficient. Location is great for walking to downtown shopping and restaurants. No need to drive your vehicle and try to find parking in the downtown area.
all reviews » Great place to stay when visiting Durango. We enjoyed the narrow gauge train and museum first. Later we had a walk on the main street and had dinner. We finished our day at the pool and hot tub : nice !. Beautiful room. Excellent presentation. Wish it had a microwave and refrig. Otherwise it was lovely. The river walk just behind was so refreshing to stroll in the evening. Clean & neat. Bathrooms were updated & showers great. Convienent to everything. Maid service was great, room cleanned in Am so was available for afternoon. Right near the downtown and the steam railroad station, next to the river. Nice indoor pool, nicely landscaped lot. Free parking. very clean and comfortable, excellent location close to downtown and railway station, good sized indoor pool and hot tub. The door was very difficult to open, but repairman helped me get in when I was locked out and was immediately working to repair after my departure. I was unable to connect with internet!. breakfast could be included for that price. Paid $150 per night, plug in for phone kept dropping out of outlet, room not big enough for family of 4. Suggestion: Add a fridge to the room furnishings. The beds. it does not have breakfast. But in Durango there is a lot of places to take it!. You could hear everything that was going on in the other rooms. no breakfast room had to go elsewhere. Breakfast facilities. Adjacent restaurant substandard. No negatives. staff. The spa/pools were closed our entire trip. This was the final reason I made reservations at the Downtown Inn. We were snow skiing and desired the benefits of the spa, whirlpool, pool for soothing tired muscles at the end of our day. It was very discouraging to see the closed sign on the spa doors each day. My children were deeply disappointed. We felt that the room charge should have been reduced due to this inconvenience but it was not. Rooms on roadside can be noisy! Ask for River-side. The second floor room was very difficult for us. Getting our luggage up the stairs was extremely difficult. The pool was down and I had to go back to get the bill corrected. Everything. No breakfast The price.
