What people say
Fabulous location for one night stop along Highway 1. It was dark when we arrived, so waking up to a gorgeous ocean view was worth the stay on its own. Continental breakfast offerings were average (extra points for fresh fruit!) but elevated to excellent experience when enjoyed outside right by the beach. Clean and quiet rooms (the sound of waves blocks other noise?), smooth check-in/check-out. Felt like a safe place to stay. all reviews »
The fact that Dan called us when we were more or less lost looking for the Cliff House and "talked us in" with excellent directions represents just how fantastic and caring the staff members really are. He even went the extra mile to help us locate a quality auto repairman when our vehicle's brakes had a problem. We will be back! Derral and Denise Lee.
The guy in reception was very friendly and helpfull, he got me some ice and brought it to my room, which I thought was very nice of him. The room was very nice, the view was amazing, felt so relaxed could have moved in. The steak was to die for. It was a perfect nights stay. Sat outside to eat and dolphins were going past.
We loved the stunning beach view! Eating breakfast in the beautiful
garden so close to the ocean was luxurious. We also appreciated the
fresh orange juice and the pastries during breakfast. Even though we
arrived at night, the receptionist helped us within a minute!.
Location! Location! Location! The ocean rules. Every room has an ocean view; and you can dine on the patio overlooking the ocean. It is breathtakingly beautiful. The restaurant serves excellent food and the staff is friendly and accommodating.
Location is perfect! The hotel is very quiet. The ocean is near. This hotel is very good for tired citizens. Food in their restaraunt is very tasty. Wi fi works very good - even outside the room.
I loved enjoying the sites and sounds of the ocean while swimming in the
nice clean pool without being knocked down and getting sand and salt all
over me! The free breakfast was excellent!.
The views are awesome and the staff are very friendly and helpful. Dinner at The Shoals Restaurant is always great and very convient because you don't have to drive.
The fact that it is right on the beach and has a lovely pool is so good for the price. The restaurant is heavenly. And they were accommodating to me, a vegetarian.
I loved this hotel, the staff could not be friendlier, the food was amazing. Falling to sleep listening to the ocean crash into the rocks.. Heaven!!.
The view and listening to the ocean all night is the best. The food in the restaurant is unbeatable!! The chef do a fantastic job !.
Staff was awesome. The view along with seal & dolphin sightings in the evening was nice. Was extremely peaceful for me :).
The hotel was imaculate. We where upgraded for $30 to a seaview room
with hottub. They where incredibly accomidating.
Great, friendly staff, clean rooms, comfortable beds, great view and pool. The restaurant was awesome!.
Great place to escape right on water with excellent restaurant and easy going friendly staff.
Awesome views from every room. Could hear the ocean at night.
Dinner of shrimp and risotto and the beautiful location.
The view, staff, restaurant, location.
So close to the ocean .
view view and view.
Whole experience.
Wonderful location right on the pacific coast and very comfortable rooms.
Being right on the ocean & the pool right in front of the ocean.
The view is beautiful
Pool facing the sea
You eat facing the ocean.
I loved the location and listening to the ocean at night.
View & location.
sea front location.
Nothing I didn't like would def stay again.
There were traffic works, you had to take an other exit than the one the
gps pointed out. These works were not too loud or anything, but a notice
from the staff about the exit would have been welcome!.
The rooms are a mixed bag. The first room we were given had a shower with no hot water and a broken window blind. We were given another room up one level (which I recommend, since you won't be on the same level as the parking lot). This room looked recently refurbished and was pleasant enough. The place is quite old, and while they are doing upgrades, the facilities are not why you come here.
There was no coffe machine in the room.
The inconvenience of the road work was small in comparison to the great
time we had there.
Nothing.
If you are going northbound on the freeway, you have to drive a ways to turn around to get to the inn, but it is well marked.
The turn off is difficult coming from the south.
no exit coming in from south.
The building seems a bit old and worn down, outdated exterior.
The rooms are a little used with curtains not working and hard pillows. There was also a screw driver and pair of needle nose pliers in my bed under the sheets when I got in.
No pool towels, maid service lacked attention.
Old green stained carpet.
Small rooms, no air conditioning
Very noisy on 1st floor.
Restaurant was close.
noise with kids its a romantic and relaxing place should stay that way.
The location is also the hotel's Achilles heel as there isn't anything else around such as other restaurants and shops. The restaurant seemed a little expensive so if you don't feel like travelling you have to pay the prices. No bar.
The room was so noisy. The upstairs kept on making a lot of noise &
we could hear the noise from the kitchen. In the morning they ran of
clean coffee cups & took forever bringing clean ones that we ended
up just leaving.
Rooms and decoration of the hotel are basic
To go to the hotel you have to go to the end of the highway.
The shower was difficult and when the guest next door turned on the shower, I had no hot water. The door did not seal very well and we could see daylight through the door frame.
Restaurant service was terrible. Limited bar selection.
whole place needs refresh.
