The room was big, fresh looking and airy with plenty of drawers and space to hang things. The girl behind the bar was friendly and gave me my whiskey and dry ginger in a proper glass! The area is good for a trip by train or a tree lined drive into the forest. The garden with the little stream and seating area is very nice. Comfy, clean and homey. Lovely place to stay. Breakfast was spot on! Wish we could have stayed longer!.
all reviews » A friendly homely hotel (it's a pub with accommodation), breakfast and evening meals were really good, good wireless connection, 15 min drive from Basingstoke, clean and comfortable room, competitive room rates. I will definitely be staying again. Very friendly place which is perfectly placed for the station and very close to shopping at Camberley. It has a really pleasant garden too. Lovely,clean room. I arrived late and was very tired so was relieved to get into a comfy bed. Landlady was friendly and helpful. Excellent ! Warm welcome by Pat and Lynn,look forward to staying there again when I'm in the area.Highly reccomended. Very clean comfortable bed nice hot shower. Great place great food. Really Friendly. Nice room, good food and company. Lovely hotel, wonderful staff. friendliness. Friendly staff, really good honest food, clean and tidy, 45 mins to London on the train which is a 3 min walk.. (didnt test either tho, but dont dissbelieve the friendly staff). off the main roads so not so busy.. and easy for the countryside, good off road parking. The garden was work in progress but will be very good. If you like to stay in a pub with rooms it was OK. The food was as you would expect from a pub and was not bad. Wash hand basin was a bit small, but it wasn't a problem. No complaints really. Walls in room were very thin and I could clearly hear man in room next door talking. Arrived at 2 30pm would have been nice if we could have had some food after our long journey but restarant closed 2pm. Poor WI-FI in room. Prob a minor points really.. one bed (2 rooms) and pillows a little uncomfortable for us. Door handles on rooms could do with the screws doing up.. This was a family run pub and at times I felt the customers were getting in the way of there family who were numerous. You felt like you were staying in some one house. The rooms were only just clean enough and the whole place could do with some money spending on it all looks a little tired.
