Staff also suggested a place to walk and a place to go for dinner. It was close to Manchester airport and the shuttle bus was great so we didn'thave to worry about getting there ourselves. Restaurant was good and we made use of the National trust trail next to hotel for some RandR before a long flight back to Australia.We particularly enjoyed the facility to unwind in the gym, and have a quick swim before dinner. Shuttle bus to the airport very helpful facility. To be honest we were not there for long as our flight was early in the morning but the waiting staff were really helpful and friendly.The Hotel was well decorated and comfortable. Your booking included free use of the Spa although as my time was restricted I never got to use it.The staff were excellent, given the circumstances they have to work under. Not a lot, except the bed was comfortble. It was quite difficult to find. Very very noisy where we were. Talking and doors slamming all night!. No lift access and some difficulty with corridor doors when moving luggage, the doors were heavy to open, though consistent with fire requirements - auto doors would be more practicable. room was a little small. Internet access so expensive. A fare amount of noise caused by some sort of convention in the morning. Not really a problem as I was awake but it was quite early and some guests may have found it annoying.Room service menu could be larger. We could not get the TV to work and the staff was very busy and did not come as promised to help.The bar area wasn't well attended to in teh afternoon/early evening. I almost had to walk into the kitchen to get a drink!. As I had not got a print-out of our reservation before we came, because my printer wasaulty, there was some confusion at check-in. However, this was resolved very satisfactorily by the young lady at check-in, whose name escapes me for the moment.The receptionist was not so friendly and due to the amount of people checking in seemed to be under pressure and in my opinion there should have been more people on reception, more than 2 people would have sped things up when checking in and on our return to pick up our car. The Bar prices wre exorbitant.Hot water in shower regularly became cold when others using sink or presumably other nearby rooms using hot water. Room too hot for my liking. Too expensive for a basic hotel. Was not aware of refurbishment underway in the leisure club prior to arriving at the hotel. shuttle bus service was not regular enough, phone enquiry from airport was ansaphone with insufficient details. No lift!!!!! It was very hard to get our luggage in and out!. Trying to find how to get there from the airport, and the lack of any real assistance from staff took the edge off my arrival. The breakfast in the morning, 15 minutes late starting, was ordinary.The small room. The staff said we can take their free bus to Altrincham station but the bus driver insisted on sending us to airport only instead of the train station nearby the Manchester airport.receptionist on arrival first night seemed inattentive. It should not be called manchester airport hotel!! Its miles away from the airport... £10 cab journey to the airport train station each time... rip off!!. Booked an early morning call for 5.30am, which we recieved 1hour earlier. Not recommended at the best of time but when arriving just before midnight on the day of your marrriage is not recommended. When we requested a shuttle they told us we would have to wait half an hour, at 2.30 a.m. in the morning this is no joke! I will never stay in this hotel again and will be very circumspect about staying in a Holiday Inn in the future! By the time we had paid taxi fares and the shuttle fare on the way back to the airport we would have been better off staying at the Radisson!. The room was very small and cramped with lack of natural light. There was no hairdryer which is standerd in most hotels. On first reaching the hotel, we had to walk a very long distance in the rain to what we thought was the entrance, having asked one of your staff it was the back door. and were directed to the front. I must point out that there was no signage whatsoever. An official complaint for our stay will be sent under separate cover.The room was too small, lack of tea bags etc. Bar prices exorbiant. If I had wanted to sleep in a cupboard I would have asked for one. Ihave never 'slept' in such a small room in my life, the bed was not evena double (3/4 full size would be nearer the mark) It was noisycontinually throughout the night, the bar area was cold, no courtesy busarrived to collect us from the station after phoning, and then you havethe cheek to charge £5 for a bus to take us back.
