The guest hose is pretty close to the Whitby station, a 10 minutes walk away. The lady owner and her daughters were very nice, jolly and cordial. The room I was staying was a single room. Though a bit too small, but was enough for a single person to stay. Was clean and had a nice bed. The guest house had an wi-fi and the signal strength was decent. The guest house is run by a friendly couple and their daughter who go out of their way to look after you . they are really nice people . its a guest house not a posh hotel ,but our room was very nice , quiet,clean & comfortable with a kettle ,tea coffee ect. Breakfast is tasty and plentyful .with a good choice.
all reviews » It's a very convenient position for getting into Whitby town centre, but is quiet. Literally a five minute walk. The owners are very friendly and make you feel very welcome. They are also a mine of knowledge for local amenities and entertainment. Whitby is a lovely place, beautiful small city with fantastic nature/scenery/views. Very nice owners working at the guesthouse, all in all a charming experience. The rooms was clean the hosts was friendly and helpful and breakfast was lovely very pleased for the price of room and breakfast. Very comfortable. Extremely friendly and helpful. The breakfast is served only between 8.30 to 9 and I missed it most of the days (well, missing it was a problem from my end as I was a late riser, so no complains as such). The approaching road from the station to the guest hose is bit steep. So, elderly people (not having a car), might find it bit difficult to walk. Having to leave. Car parking was a small issue but we managed to park on a side road round the back of the building. Lots of hills, but that is whitby and not the fault of the hotel at all!. A little out of the town. cold shower room....could have done with small heater in there. Nothing to say here !. We had attic room which had a cream blind covering window which meant I was woken as soon as sun came up, bonus in one way as it made sure we were up in time for breakfast but would have preferred more of a lie in. Bathroom was unheated and cold air was vented through the extractor fan. Not having on suite. Up a bit of a hill, but that was fine for us. Parking off a busy road. Nothing. Parking. probabley needed lounge area. Quite a climb to the room, this wasn't said when i booked - struggled with the flights of stairs to the attic. The room needs decorating. No fan in room, perhaps i should of asked for one.seagulls very noisy, and nesting on roof, causing lack of sleep, but that is not owners fault. the reception time is from 4 pm and i came there at around 1 pm and i kept knocking the door and tried to telephone the staff but nobody answered me so i have to take my luggage the whole day ,it is quite tired. no parking.Cold smelly bathroom. Shower facilities were not appropriate for non-family members as it was in one of the bedroom areas and not privately cut off. It was also not very big and therefore lacked comfort whilst washing. There was not complimentary shampoo or conditioner nor was a hair dryer provided. Propriator was not available when I went looking to see if they could provide one. Not flexible with breakfast times. It was 8.30am or nothing. Sharing a toilet bathroom downstairs. Bath at stayed damp. Onsite parking is limited and small. The grout in the shower is soiled or mouldy and needs to be cleaned or replaced. The advertised off road parking was only enough for 3 very small cars. Too far from the sea front, and up a very steep hill. Didnt realize no on ensuite ad to share toilet n bathroom.
