The location was superb.
In the entrance was comfy sofas and a wood burning fire very cosy. The evening meals were huge portions and yummy. The view from the kitchen was spectacular. All the facilities such as showers and toilets were clean and lots of hot water. The bedrooms were nice and warm as well.

The staff was very friendly and upgraded us on arrival to a bigger room. The location was a bit remote but since we had rented a car, suited us. The hostel is professionally run and the staff were brilliant multi taskers !.
Friendly relaxed atmosphere kids enjoyed the board games great if on a budget as can self cater or eat off menu and a bar to boot.

The room is one of the smallest I have ever stayed in for a YHA, quad room really small only room for two at a time to stand up or walk around , prefab walls in bedrooms so very thin walls . Avoid room numbers 9 or 10 very small . The mattresses on the bed very thin dipped in the middle and continually rolled into it during the night, it doesn't Make for the best nights sleep.

Needs a bigger oven for self catering guests, competing for space meant it was very late before our party of seven could eat.

breakfast is not that great - come on guys this is the one thing you need to lift your game in.
the double mattress in our room needs replacing.
Two families there first night over ran the kitchen and dining room for hours, but then they went home.
the room next to ours had 4 young men in it who shouted, laughed and bumped about all night long so we got very little sleep, which for us, ruined our trip.
