We reserved two rooms at the guest house, which is conveniently located near the ferry port at Stornoway. The rooms were large and spacious and well equipped. The guest house is obviously being redecorated, which will add to the value of the rooms. The breakfasts were excellent! Cooked to order and taken in a cafeteria adjoining the hotel. And the staff and locals were very friendly!. we loved going into the little bakers/cafe for breakfast each morning. gave us a real taste of the island life so qaint.all reviews »
Everything was just perfect - the room was excellent and we enjoyed the fact we could have breakfast at any time. View across the harbour. Didn't get dark until 11pm. Fantastic scenery. The bathroom had the 'wow' factor - but unfortunately as soon as you turn the shower on the wow factor goes. There's no power in it. A quick shower takes 30 minutes! Also, car parking can be an issue at certain times of the day but thats not the fault of the hotel - thats the councils problem.A wee bit shabby - but overall - large room and location makes up for it. i paid for a family room for single use and was given a small single room.Breakfast was slow and the member of staff on duty was not particulalry welcoming or friendly. Unfortunately the owner was not on duty on that day. Not accepting credit cards. a bit old fashioned. The bathroom was freezing. rooms cold, no en suite, no reception or reception staff. Broken window, in front of amusement park and heavy traffic road.

Breakfast is served in the tearoom which is situated on the first floor. Guests departing prior to 07:30 may have continental breakfast served to their room the night before if required.
Important information to guests
Please contact the hotel prior to your arrival to advise of your arrival time if you are arriving after 18.00. Also, the hotel asks guests to forward a valid contact telephone number, in case of any emergency.
Rooms will be operated on a self check-in basis, which allows guests the flexibility to arrive at any time after 1pm.
Travelling information
Coming by sea, the Thorlee is easily seen from the ferry terminal. Exiting the terminal road, turn left, then go straight on over the mini roundabout. When you pass the bus station, turn into the carpark. The Thorlee is situated opposite the town hall. Coming by air, a short 5 minute taxi ride will take you straight to us.
