Location, friendly staff, value for money. balcony access for smoking and also sitting in the sun with a fabulous view. excellent location staff very friendly and helpfull excellent breakfast. The decor was slapdash along with draws which did not close, the shower comparment had a dangerous spray head which came off and spirted hot water. The whole room and its appliances were in very poor condition and dangerous!. Outdated decor downstairs belies the otherwise excellence of the accomodation. tv didn't work too well. slight damp smell on entering the hotel although this had no detriment to the overall experience. next to a busy road. I was expecting some shampoo or shower gel so was disappointed to find just soap. the front rooms are veru loud. We were lucky and they let us chenge for another in the back.The two rooms we booked were both freezing cold with little or no heat in the radiators. In our room the electric fire did not work. Also we could not get the shower to run warm. Breakfast was only between 8.30 and 9.00 am. This is a very short timespan. It would have been nicer to be able to have a later and more leisurely time on the Sunday. The staircase is very narrow and could cause problems for more mature guests.They don't provide basic toiletries. very uncomfortable beds and room very basic. The bathroom was dreadful. One tap not working properly, everything very, very dated and in need of a major refit. Beds poor. Stairs to upper floors steep, narrow, very difficult if carrying bags. Noisy road v. difficult to cross to parking lot. The window was at the same level as the public balcony and anyone could have broken in as old fashioned metal windows. Room smelled of damp and the showerroom/toilet smelled bad also. Bed and linen was old and the mattress poor.Yes there was 1 person on call who could not apologise enough! for the condition of the room yet that same day it was booked out to another couple!.

The Lyndhurst is situated on the South Coast of the island in the Parish of St Brelade and in the bay of St Aubin overlooking the beautiful Elizabeth Catsle. We are only a short walk to the village of St Aubin and only 3 miles from St Helier.
We are located on a main bus route. Walking and cycle routes are also within easy reach as are several golf courses and the islands main watersports center is a few hundred yards away.
