The staff where very helpful and accommodating to all requests. The garden at the back was excellent to relax in, in the evenings. Easy access to beach and restaurants an safe place to park bikes!. the whole experience easy check courteous an helpful staff. I loved the location as it was in the centre of the town and it meant once we were parked up that was it and everything was on our doorstep.

No place to sit and talk after 11pm, as bar and other rooms were looked up. There was only one minor complaint--we stayed in the garden suite withmy son and his fiancee, and the door separating the two rooms wasglass, but as there was no curtain or other covering privacy was a bitof a issue. The only negative point was that the bar closed at11pm,we were told it was because of staff shortage,I gathered that there were no staff in the hotel from 11pm till the following morning when staff came in to do breakfasts.Nothing - could have done with updating the bathroom and a hairdryer. Parking was a bit of a problem. Nothing really. Would stay there again. Room needed a little more airing, but the charm of its non chain ownership was greatly appreciated. toast not properly toasted fried eggs almost raw. Thought it was expensive for facilities offered. showers need upgrading. check out time of 10.30am is unfair and far too early. Mid day is fair and reasonable. I would never go back nor recommend the hotel because of this. Also it would have been worth explaining the facilities slightly more because we only realised 10 mins before we had to leave that we actually needed to turn the electric heater on to heat the room - by which stage we had spent most of the night freezin. We had two rooms both of which smelt musty/mouldy - smell coming from the bathrooms - not pleasant!. Poor cleaning before our arrival - we found blood-soaked cloth under the bed. In my presence a single room was offered to a prospective guest for the following night for £65. No evening meals were available, I had to go out for dinner. No bar staff when I got back and no member of staff approached or offered to serve me. I should not have to go and find staff.. I was on the top floor, no lift,and one way out in the event of fire ie down the stairs to the assembly point.Attitude of staff, welcome non existent, offhand. Musty smell in bedroom.

From Edinburgh Airport:
- Airbus travel every 10 minutes from stand 19 to the centre of Edinburgh and Haymarket Station.

By rail:
- Take a train to Leuchars (5 miles from St. Andrews) on main line from London (King's Cross) - Edinburgh - Aberdeen.
- From here, 2 to 3 buses leave per hour between 09:00 and 18:00 and less frequently outwith these times.
- A taxi from Leuchars railway to St. Andrews costs around GBP 9.

By car from Edinburgh and the South:
- Cross the Forth Road Bridge and proceed north along the M90.
- Exit at junction 2A and follow the A92 until just before Cupar.
- Join the A91 for St Andrews.
- Alternatively, take the M90 to junction 8, then A91 to St Andrews.

From Glasgow city, airport and the South West:
- Follow the M8 (east) to the Forth Road Bridge and continue as above.
- Alternatively, take the M8 onto the M80 then join the A876 for Kincardine Bridge.
- Continue onto the A977 for Kinross and join the M90 at junction 6.
- Exiting at junction 8 and continue onto the A91 for St Andrews.

From the North/North-West (Perth):
- Take the M90 then A913 for Cupar and St Andrews.

From Dundee:
- Cross the Tay Road Bridge on A92 and after one mile exit onto the A919 for Leuchars, then the A91 for St Andrews.

Once you enter St. Andrews on the A91, go straight over 2 roundabouts, through 2 sets of pedestrian traffic lights, and the hotel is around 150 yards on the right.
