The room was comfortable , clean and quiet. Well equipped with tea and coffee. Breakfast was served in comfortable surroundings,with a good variety of choice, excellently cooked and presented. Easy access to room at all times. And assistance and information for access to the city ar parking facilities were good and secure. Pleasant family managed hotel I would readily revisit and recommend to others.
all reviews » The breakfast was very, very good (considering the uk standards). Also the people there were friendly and helpful. The room was very well conserved and everything very clean. The localization is good, it's less than 10 min. Bus from downtown, it means that its quit and walking distance to the center (15/20 min. Walking). We liked very much. A clean, reasonably priced and welcoming hotel. Bed was comfortable and we were able to keep the room cool in the heat by opening both bathroom and bedroom windows. Enjoyed the free wi-fi and the breakfast was lovely. Excellent advice given with a good knowledge of facilities available. Very convenient location and a frequent bus service. The hotel is good value for the cost. Management interested in the guests. The staff were really friendly. Breakfast was excellent with a good choice and freshly cooked. The jacuzzi bath was lovely and there was lots of hot water. As much tea and coffee as you wanted. Was perfect for a one night stay, just set far enough out of the city centre that I felt I got to see another, lovely side of Oxford from the walk into the centre. Absolutely nothing. It felt like a long walk to town, especially coming back after walking round the attractions, and the nearest restaurants were quite a distance away on Cowley Road, but the bus was frequent and regular. Activity audible from the next room, even snoring. The mattress on the bed was far too thin and hard. Decor is a bit dated Pillows a bit thin. A little dated in decor and tired in some areas - e.g. wooden towel holder, toilet roll holder in bathroom really need replacing with modern metal ones. Shower head on sloping wall as a shower over bath but impossible to stand up and shower - plus no curtain so floor flooded when trying use shower. Wallpaper peeling in places. Bath towels a little thin and small. Nothing. Maybe have to pay attention to toilet cleanliness and general looking after. That is so important in any hotel. I won't recommend unless you clean up toilets and bedrooms. Would recommend guy who ran the place . Zero complaints. Nothing to dislike. Our room had no window to see out of. A little cramped. Two single beds were very hard. Handbasin in the room rather than with the shower and toilet. Nothing. I had to miss a breakfast because it didn't start until 7:30 am. Shower not the greatest!. set up so that able to use hair curlers at mirror, never a handy plug little more room in shower. No receipt when leaving. The shower was not very powerful and when the cleaner came to clean the room she did not knock, instead she unlocked the door and came in while we were in bed!. Rooms are tiny and dated, the shower is a bit feeble extractor didn't work but the worst things was that the pipes make a loud noise ALL NIGHT, I complained to the only staff member around in the morning but he wasn't interested. Another guest complained too. Room could be cleaner. Check in: I had to wait outside a locked door for 10 minutes before I could check in, there was a call facility, but this only dialled a number internally, rather than then forwarding to a mobile where I could have then at least understood why I was having to wait outside. As it turns out, the guy had popped off to pick up his girlfriend!!!. Bathroom was small, shower was half way down the wall and not easy to use and at 6.30 in the morning the pipes rattled waking my wife up. Small bed, too short for a double Terrible shower, not high pressure water Decor like the 1970s!. Rikety bed Cobwebs in upper corners of room. The room had no windows, so it felt a bit claustrophobic. It did have a skylight, but didn't provide very much natural light. The shower room (no bath) was very small and there was no space for shampoo/soap etc inside the shower cubicle. A bar was advertised, but not opened during my stay. Room very dark needed decorating , bar was not open. Decoration is not new, breafast is simply. location. We had a room without a window (skylight) and the room felt hot and closed in. We had asked a twin and as they had given us a double they changed us to this one so I hope this is the only one without a window. Toilet and shower and wash basin substandard - shower too small and grubby to use. A little pricey for the room. Very twee. No shower screen so couldn't have a shower. A little out of the main town centre. Small bathroom.
