I have now stayed at Sprowston Manor a number of times and the cost reflects what you would expect from a high end establishment. I cannot fault the hotel, the staff being particularly friendly and helpful. The spa and indoor swimming pool are great and the rooms are super clean. General feeling of space and room 105 with a shared garden absolutely great! The proximity to Bewilderwood was the main reason for staying here. A great place for under 10 year olds. Read the books beforehand to enhance the enjoyment though.
all reviews » The pool area was very good, unfortunately we didn't use many of the other facilities and didn't eat in any of the restaurants. Our quilt and pillows were really snuggly and over all we enjoyed our stay. Everything. The staff in all departments were brilliant, the room was excellent and the food delicious. A superb weekend. The price of the crisps and other mini bar items were too high. £2.25 for a small packet of crisps - no way would we pay that price. Crisps in the pool area were 60p far more realistic.Limited FreeTV chanels in room (only 1,2,3,4,& 5) and a couple of news chanels. No air conditioning in room, but to be fair we dont really need it in this country, except maybe for a few days/nights in the summer! . Some of the breakfast items could have been hotter!. Would like an earlier check in time and the breakfast although excellent was just warm not hot which would have made it more enjoyable. We found the room very hot at night. We wanted to walk in the grounds but were limited by the golf course. The confusion over dinner table reservation. No complaints. cost of Internet was outrageous - very disappointing. The wheels on the bottom of the beds , when sitting up the bed kept on rolling toward , had to prop armchair in front of bed , lol. Distance from bedroom to dining different brochures in room confusing info about mealtimes. Restaurant fully booked too early, couldn't eat 'til 9.30. £15 for internet. Overpriced drinks at the bar. Everything was extra. You had to pay for breakfast, pay for internet. It felt like a money making machine rather than a place to pay and then relax Mars bar price (small) £1.80. Fine if your company is paying but private individuals may want to choose somewhere else. The Room Service was slow, the food overcooked and the presentation was poor given that it was a Marriott Hotel. Not happy about paying £2.25 for a packet of crisps or nuts from the Mini Bar and £1.80 for a small Mars Bar. Some waiting staff at breakfast were short and sharp and not at all helpful. Room service food was awful Disabled room bath was too small and was not told it was a disabled room.
