We stayed as a family with 2 young children, in the therwell suite. Gorgeous room, had a connecting room for the children. Loved the attention to detail, teddies in the room & books and games. Two hampers were provided if you didn't fancy a cooked breakfast, these had cereals, jam and porridge in. We ate in the restaurant and the food was lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, the reviews helped me pick the black horse , and it lived up to my expectations. Would love to stay again !.
all reviews » We received a fantastic greeting and, throughout our visit, excellent personal service from all the staff that we encountered. The standard of the evening meal, food and service, was very high to the point that we would definitely see this hotel as a 'destination' for a future visit. The breakfast hamper delivered to the room was a novel but very good touch. Absolutly delightful place to stay the stall were friendly,helpful and knowledgable of the area. The accommadation was lovely . The food - devine! This place is a hidden gem, well worth travelling to expierence a bit of heaven!. The Whole atmosphere of the Hotel was excellent, very friendly and helpful staff, room was very comfortable and every possible thing had been thought of. Cannot wait to stay there again. The room was amazing - big and comfortable with added luxuries. The staff was warm and welcoming. The food was gourmet and filling with a menu to suit all tastes and budget. Lovely decoration, we found there all what we needed, breackfast in the room, bathrobes, games for the children in their rooms ( they Loved them ).... Almost everything!! Food was mega! Bed was comfy! Bedding was beautiful Loved the games in the kids bedroom Surroundings were beautiful. The rooms were excellent as was the meal in the restaurant, breakfast good although a little cramped on the table as we were a party of 4. The bed was not very comfortable, my husband had a back pain when he awoke. Be carefull, on friday the restauraurant close at 7pm, we arrived at 7:45 with our 4 young children after 5 hours in the car, and had no choice than riding again to fing a restaurant ( macdo, 20 min from there ). But the staff was Nice to help us to find a place to eat. We stopped in the family room as we have 2 children. Not having a bath in the bathroom only a shower. With young children it is easier to bath them than shower them. WD40 to stop doors creaking. The flies greeting you as you check in and were a nuisance in the bar area. One problem for older visitors the shower had no handrail and the shower floor was slippery. Thus I fell over and banged my head. No damage done but it would be a good idea for all showers to have a handrail in them. Health and safety!!. Nothing!. Not a great deal to do in village. It would be a base for exploring the wider area. No cooked breakfast before 9am. I couldn't fault it. nothing. no proper seating in room to sit and relax dust under bed, room needs repainted shower tiles need cleaning black stains in corners. Nothing. flies. Nothing. Could have done with extra fresh milk with breakfast in the room. Small point, didn't have any yoghurt at breakfast. leaving!. breakfast starts at 0900 and I started work at 0830 so just had cereals in the room. Nothing, it was perfect. Too many flies buzzing about. The confusion about booking in time your site said 2pm when we arrived there we were told it was 3pm which wasn't that great as I had to do some work needs to be made clear between both parties. heating in room off.
