South East Wales is fast becoming a comprehensive business centre, and, as such, The Waterloo provides a fully equipped conference room for up to 40 people, and wireless internet facilities.

I liked pretty much everything about this hotel. The period features, the cast iron radiators, the polished stone floors and grand hallway. The tiling in the bar area is beautiful, it was like stepping back in time to c1940, 'Goodnight Sweat Heart', wwii romance, the days of flat caps and Woodbines I just loved it and would stay again. The food is top notch too!. A gem in a run down town (city). Iconic design and of historic significance. An eample to others to show what can be done. Comfortable and relaxed environment, tastefully restored to its former glory. Food and service very good and great surroundings/interior. Good wines too. Do the Transport bridge walk if you dare! (Wed-Sun).
all reviews » Nice warm clean room and staff who were only to willing to help. Great menu and well prepared and presented food. Private parking. We used it as a base for Cardiff on an international weekend only 10 mins on the train, worked out well. This hotel had an amazing pub- best steak in the uk! The service was personal and very friendly. The rooms are adequate, a bit shabby-chic. Definately would return!. This is a beautiful old hotel and the staff were great. Definitely recommended if you are on business in the Newport area. Easy access and parking. The whole experience was fantastic, food was the best I've had around this area, staff were very accommodating, really good value for money. Huge bedroom and beautifully finished bathroom, attentive service, traditional pub onsite, diverse and inviting menu in the restaurant. Friendly staff. Clean room with good facilities. Good service. If I were to nit pick, fresher bread at dinner - that's all. The outside of the hotel can be off putting on arrival, please do not let that put you off, get inside and enjoy one very nice friendly hotel. It's on the edge of an industrial zone. very little. Bit niggly, but only the roller blind in bathroom wouldn't work - so difficult to enjoy the early morning sunshine Location a bit unprepossessing - but once inside - great. Looks a bit dated but inside was clean and tidy. window in my room was old wooden one and the cold wind howled through it making it rattle. This was fixed with a coaster but still the room was freezing. On arrival the place looks a little dingy, hard to gain entry. Not overly keen on the dead animals in glass cases. just a matter of personal taste i guess. up pricing for room on sporting event. No cask ales decor interesting and although in general a clean hotel it does not sparkle. Cleanliness, - room was not entirely clear of a previous occupant's discarded items.
