This is an exceptional property on all ways, starting with the owners. They were so helpful and friendly. They understood our frustration, being jet-lagged.The property is an oasis of calm and relaxation, perched on a side hill not far from the coastline. I thought I had lost my glasses at the B & B and we were well on our way. I emailed the owners who were beyond helpful, kind and willing look and send them to me if found. (Turns out I found them in the car...) I'd go there again in a he.
all reviews » The warm welcome from owners Anne-Marie and Barry. Nothing was too much to ask for. Such a personal service received. Couldn't ask for anything more. Fantastic hotel, stayed in a disabled room and there was nothing we needed that wasn't in there. Breakfast was delicious, excellent selection, freshly cooked. Would definitely recommend this hotel and would certainly stay there again. Spaciousness of both the bedroom and bathroom were wonderful. The host and hostess knew the balance between the professional and personable approach to their guests. Nothing was too much trouble. The décor was in keeping with the buildings grandeur but was also comfortable and very tasteful. Disable people appear to be very well catered for. Recently renovated, the hotel and room was very comfortable with design features and furniture, the bathroom was beautiful and the owners were excellent hosts and nothing was too much trouble. We ate in the restaurant and enjoyed our meals. Overall everything was very comfortable and pleasurable. The bedrooms are luxurious. The staff were very friendly and wecolming. The guest house is more like a 5 star hotel. Bath robes were supplied in each room. Everything was pristine. We had a fantastic stay and I will return. I have already recommended this guest house to my friends. Excellent hotel, beautifully furnished and the food is first class, all meals are individually prepared and Barry knows how to cook. Very welcoming and friendly atmosphere. The whole Guest House was spotlessly clean and has been refurbished to a very high quality. The rooms were very comfortable and Bathroom/shower was a delight to use which included a bathrobe. I was apprehensive that it would be noisy and "pub-like" but it was quiet and wonderful in every way. The parking up the street was free after 6pm and easy to get to-always available when we were there first part of July. A fantastic venue for a short or extended break. A lot of time, effort, thought and finance has been put into this recently refurbished hotel. I would have no problems recommending The Wildercombe. Great value. Nothing. no defaffenitated tea in room poor coffee at breakfast. cafetiere would be nice with proper coffee giving time that wanted breakfast and choosing day before. felt like canteen food, waiting around. creaky floor above our room. woken up at 6.30 am with constant walking creaks above us. most of above was unfortunate and we are fussy about our coffee/food!!. driveway. Could not fault anything. Nothing.
