It is fantastic to find a hotel so dog friendly. I would not go on holiday if there were not places like the Lifeboat. The area is beautiful and so relaxing. Had great evening.Room very clean.comfortable and service great.Had nice evening in bar eatting and drinking.We found the meals were excellent. The friendliness of the staff, and the evening meal was one of the best we have ever had.location, friendly staff, good breakfast, very dog friendly. They made our stay very nice, beautiful part of Norfolk!!!. good food, pleasant room. Some staff were very pleasant, others clearly "just doing a job"; bar food was ok, if anything too much quantity. Open fire was very welcoming and made the lounge area very cosy.The location is beautiful and very quiet. The restaurant and bar menus were very tempting and we were spoilt for choice with excellent daily specials. The breakfast was excellent too and again spoilt for choice, wish we had room for more!. location. It would have been nice to have been able to relax in an armchair after our meal - as opposed to staying at the table or sitting on a bar stool.. decor of hotel could be upgraded. The smell of the paraffin lamps used in much of the bar eating area was extremely off-putting and, for this reason I would not recommend the hotel without a clear warning. Our room was tight for space and a bit tired looking, a refresh to lighten and brighten the room would make the room feel cleaner and give a sense of better value for money.expensive food and accomodation.

The Lifeboat is famous in the area for its food. Some travel miles for a huge bowl of steaming mussels (available in season), hand-picked from beds nearby, or for a very special plate of fish and chips with its crispy ale beer batter – two of the most popular dishes from the extensive bar menu. Some guests prefer to select from the day’s special board, based on what's been caught, shot, picked or dug locally each day. Others may choose to enjoy a three-course meal in the more formal dining room accompanied by wine from an interesting and imaginative list, selected predominantly from small growers and bijou vineyards.

- Take the M11 to Cambridge.
- Join the A10 in the direction of King's Lynn, via Ely.
- On reaching King's Lynn, take the A149 to Hunstanton.
- Then, follow the signs to Thornham, along the coastal road.
- Lifeboat Inn is located on the first left on entering the village.
