All food is freshly prepared and locally sourced. The Bar is built into the hotel’s conservatory area and offers an extensive range of expertly selected drinks, which can also be enjoyed on the terrace, overlooking Gorleston’s glorious beach. This elegant and modern hotel is situated just metres from the award-winning Gorleston beach, and has free on-site parking. Lowestoft is a 10-minute drive away, and the beautiful Norfolk Broads are a 10-minute drive.

The individual styles of the rooms. Comfortable beds. Tasty breakfast. Beautiful gardens (although mostly obscured by rain when we were there). Good location right by the cliff top gardens and a path down to the beach. Clean rooms, location, very nice dining room. Local people use the bar (pub) which all adds to the atmosphere. A convenient location for touring In all, a very good base for a few days in Norfolk. Warm friendly staff who were very accomodating. No shower and the plug was stuck in the bath. I accept I was unlucky. No swimming pool.unusual decor. Shower was a bit archaic.We ordered a bar snack but unfortunately the link to the kitchen was not working. On complaining the attitude of the staff was 'its not my fault'. Some retraining needed here. On a plus point when pointed out we got an apology and a refund. Staff are fine. The room was slightly shabby - there was a rip in the curtain and crack in the wall. The bar food was a bit disappointing. My partner had steak and commented that there was a lot of fat and not much meat on it.Not very child friendly, childs bed in room was right under window 12 inches away from the T.V which kept her awake till late or we had no T.V. No booster chairs in restaurant made it very difficult for a 3yr old to sit at the table. Room was shabby and desparately in need of refurbishment (which was probably reflected in the price). The first room was freezing cold as the window could not be closed. Bedroom need decorating.

Travelling information

Travelling to Great Yarmouth on the a47. From the a47 take the third exit of the roundabout over Breydon Bridge. Take the second exit at the next two roundabouts - travelling in the direction of signs for Lowestoft (a12). At the fourth roundabout take the exit left, and at the t junction left again. Take the second right hand turn into Avondale Road and left onto Cliff Hill. The hotel is situated on the right hand side.
